I just noticed the Vath don't have eyes

As one example, but since they are a bug race that is why their eyes are very tiny. Flies have pretty large eyes though :thinking:, well they designed this race on a bug whose eyes you can't see very well :P.

Based on the designs of some beetles, if they do have eyes, I am pretty sure they are the two little curved ovals under the 'lip' of their mantle, right up by the point, like where the person circled them in an above comment. It would match the positioning of the eyes of some real insects.
The head itself is actually only that little tiny triangular portion near the front of the shell.
The thing is, there are some comments made by the Vath themselves that suggest that either they do have eyes, as they are capable of actual visual perception (The Deft Arm says that he 'saw' Drydox's true face beneath her mask when they were eating nanka eggs, or that what ever sense they have that makes up for a lack of eyes gives them a perception of things in space that is as sensitive at detecting detail and shape as eyes are. He describes her face as being "much more endearing than her mask."

Also, just a fun fact for anyone who did not catch it, there is a quest from the Keeneye where you have to fetch materials to make fertilizer for the local patron's crops. If you pay close enough attention to the completion text, the Keeneye mentions one of the ingredients, I believe it was a type of loam, the patrons refer to as, if he remembers correctly, manure, but the Keeneye suggests it is something to be eaten. This heavily implies that the Vath were modeled after a variety of Dung Beetle, and their appearance seems to support it. XD
