"You cannot equip this" - please remove the confirmation box after I check it once.

I understand why we have the "you cannot currently equip this on your character job/class" for armor and such, but once I click the confirmation box to buy it anyway, it should not keep coming up. I am buying these items, like helmets and armor, for desynthesis. So once I click the "I understand" box, it should not keep asking me.

You'd be surprised at how many people will end up buying the wrong endgame gear without this hand holding.

Considering even with this people still buy it then come here and complain that they bought the wrong thing...I don't think its going anywhere.

Wellllllll.. then at least let us have an option to turn off extra confirmation dialogues when buying weapons/armor. That way those who want it can have it, and those who don't can turn it off

This reminds me of the Toyota or whatever car maker story.

In an effort to help people avoid locking the car keys inside the car, manufacturers decided it's a good idea to make drivers hold the door handle in the open position to close a locked door, else the door lock will automatically unlock.

All it did, was to train people to always hold the handle up when closing the door, and people still lock their keys in the car all the time.

Same for most confirmation boxes in user interfaces.

What is really needed is much better organization. For example filter the lists by Job. And put up an elaborate job-specific graphic on the top-left of the dialog box, like those UI windows for our relic weapons. In fact, when the player opens the Warrior tab which only lists Warrior items, put an actual graphic of a Warrior holding out that axe as the window panel graphic.

Anyone who's used computers for a long time knows we often get into the habit of dismissing dialog boxes without really reading them due to how overused those confirmation dialogs are. We may read a security warning due to context of being at a time when we're not supposed to get dialog boxes. But when buying gear items and we are expecting that dialog box, we'll often just click Yes without reading it.

Car manufacturers learnt their lesson. Computer programmers and UI designers should do the same.

youd be surprised how reasonable the request is.

"Ok...you told me i shouldn't buy that.. not get the <BLEEP> out of my face" - Its our choice....others can use it...some of us rather live without it.
No different than any other MMO where people reserve the right to make stupid purchases. (EVE Online for example)

I have another proposal: make this system know all my leveled classes and not just check currently active.

For example, if i have DRK 70 lvl and want to buy some lvl 70 DRK weapon while another class is active (especially lower level) - it still bring this confirmation box. But i reallly CAN equip it, i just need to switch to DRK.

Doing A-rank trains, only thing worth buying with Nuts are moonward accessories to dump on GC dude.
Thousands of accessories, 3x as many clicks due to this damn popup.
Yeah, I'll take occasionally buying the wrong thing if it saves getting RSI.

There's even a section in Character Settings under Items for Shop Settings, but it only relates to selling stuff.
