OK.. so lets look at this then.
Someone queued and either forgot or just did not want to repair their items. They got the warning but ignored it , possibly because since they were the healer it was an instaque.
You, reasonably politely asked about their gear state and were told you were elitist. ..... The fact you didn't kick them right there and then is admirable, but foolish. If someones reaction to you is first and foremost hostility and unwillingness to do something about it if possible, what can you really do? This isn't the system. This is the person. What would you do if someone queued with perfectly serviceable and repaired gear but swapped to broken stuff afterwards (for the challenge or whatever) ?
In my opinion the system is fine how it is. We have the tools to remove disruptive players and for someone who is actually concerned with being a contributing player the warnings are there. It's neither inconvenient nor expensive to hit a repair NPC reasonably often. They are everywhere.
What if I don't want to repair my gear to full before every queue? or even lower %? I have all my crafting at max, why should I not get the most out of my darkmatter and repair at 10% damage?

You do know that Dark Matter repairs add 100% durability to your gear, right? It doesn't set it to 100%. If your gear was at 10% durability, repairing it with Dark Matter would make it 110%.

Wasn't aware it "overcharged" it. Honestly haven't used that feature much since I responsibly repair as often as I can at the NPC =] .. the other points still stand though.

You make some good and sensible points, I guess that even if a system were in place to try to prevent it people that intentionally grief others will always find a way around it to do so. I concede.
