Daily SB Hunt Bills I have no problem with. Relying on someone running the HW Hunt bills I do.
I have the same sentiment with the Kojin versus the Vath and Gundu. I feel balancing against old content to use for current levelling is a dangerous proposition.
The daily Alliance takes longer than a dungeon to run, with what sounds like comparable experience results.

I do understand the sentiment of things being more efficient so players can catch up, but that doesn't mean that those efficient means are without fault (palace is extremely boring, yet it's one of the most efficient means of levelling). And then there's the question of why more efficiency is a bad thing? Why is it bad that players have more value for their time? Because they'll cap out quicker? Well they still have plenty of other things to do then, like level a new job or do any of the wealth of content that is available.

I'm the opposite on that. I've wasted a lot of challenge log stuff on the wrong class, but I still got all my combat classes to 70 rather easily. That should honestly be up to the player to make sure things aren't wasted, not given a security blanket so you can ignore other classes and give them EXP when you feel like it.

My 51 paladin (1,058,400 experience from 51>52) gets 158,760 experience from Feeling Lucky, and 105,840 experience from Dungeon Master.
My 34 lancer, if I were ever inclined to level it given the days of cross-class are over (217,900) gets 32,685 and 21,790.

Except at level 60 the equation breaks.
My level 60 white mage (4,470,000 experience tnl) gets 583,200 experience from Feeling Lucky, and 388,800 experience from Dungeon Master. That seems off.
My level 65 red mage (6,995,000) gets 583,200 experience, and 388,800 experience. Wait a minute.
I asked my friend, and their level 63 monk (5,809,000) gets 583,200 experience, and 388,800 experience.

Any of that seem off to you?
Not at all. One thing to keep in mind with 'Feeling Lucky' and 'Dungeon Master' is you running the roulette three times also registers towards the requirements needed for 'Dungeon Master'. This means you realistically just need to run five dungeons to reap both rewards. I would think of it as the sum of both equal 25% of your job's current level. This is more than fair for a weekly reward.

As for 60+, echoing what another poster stated, the game's experience point system is designed to get players caught up very quickly. By 'caught up', I mean to level 60. This is the level that you start off at in the current expansion and you are meant to work for the exp to get to the current cap. Thus, the most efficient means to get your exp going from 60-70 is to run content in the current expansion, not older content that is meant to catch players up. You're basically penalized for trying to level up this way.

As for getting to 60 with your alts, you should have no issues here. FATEs, dungeons, beast tribe quests, side quests, PoTD, PvP, daily roulettes, hunts, and yes the challenge log too are all rich exp sources to tap from. It's really difficult for me to sympathize with exp gripes when players were already at level cap not even a week into the new expansion.

Nope. The reward scaling for the DoW/M related exp-rewarding challenge logs stop scaling for jobs that have reached the previous expansion's level cap. This was also the case in HW, where those logs stopped scaling at level 50. Because of this, I generally try to complete those logs on jobs that are closer to lvl 60, to get the most out of them.

What solidifies this as being intentional, was the change to the materia melding system. When they changed it so melding could be done on any class (given that the character had the required crafter level), players were able to complete the "Meld 5 materia" challenge log for an exp reward that did scale past lvl 50. They changed this some time later, to only grant exp to DoH jobs.

I'm confused, why do you need to rely on someone for HW hunt bills? They are even easier to solo than SB hunt bills.

The missing component in SB is battle levequests. Why aren't there any? That would be additional exp + challenge log exp.
