    So i'll reiterate yet again...


    While doing the extreme primal yesterday morning, not during the DDoS attack 2 people disconnected and party disbanded.

    Last night during the DDoS attack 2 people disconnected, and 6 or so people had sever lag while the boss was doing Queen Waltz, and 5-6 people were hit by blizzard because the majority of the party, including me had a severe screen freeze/lag.

    This morning, after the DDoS attack, upon entering v1s 3 people instantly before the pull or any action taken at all, got the d/c not me included, so i just left, because someone d'cing while doing savage results in 1 or less chests.


    To me that is completely unplayable.

    Can't do anything about the DDoS attacks aside from mitigating it a tad. SE already said they're working on that. DDoS attacks don't usually last more than a few hours to a couple of days at most because it's extremely resource intensive to do so. Even for a botnet there's only so long you can keep doing it. So aside from the 1 or 2 days that everyone will feel from a DDoS attack, the rest is on your ISP and the routing. You mentioned Comcast, which is known to be very poor, but I know they recently had a major outage out west just yesterday. That can effect you as well.

    Comcast XFinity and Level 3 had outages/tech problem yesterday that affected certain routes to the server. It happens sometimes. Comcast even confirmed it on twitter. This morning I had some 90k but it has cleared up for now. Usually my connection is stable 99% of the time. I'm Spectrum though.

    I've been having so many issues with dc and lag the last two days. I even pay for a WTFast and I am so pissed off because raiding has been undoable because of these issues. OS1 and OS2 is no problem but OS3.. eck...

    This is extremely frustrating and I am over it. Fix this game now please. This is completely unacceptable. I already pay for a service to help me stay connected to your game, and now not even that is working.

    Please fix this now!

    You don't see much in General because these types of problems are usually opened in the Tech Support forum.

    It isn't just Comcast. I've been seeing problems on Spectrum here on the East Coast. This was also posted to Lodestone today:

    While myself i have had rather bad lag for sometime now since the server move (not every day but past month it seems so) i think it may very well be at your end.
    They should however still invest in better hardware

    Comcast was having major problems all day yesterday along with ddos attacks. There is nothing SE can do about ddos attacks you have to just wait it out.

    Do you blame your destination when the highway is backed up, even if you can get to the gas station right next to your current location without any trouble?

    If it was the servers, no one would be playing. How is this difficult to understand? And I'm sorry, but "I can go to websites and stream netflix" is not valid "my internet is fine" troubleshooting technique. Also. Prior to yesterday, Comcast and Level3 were not having problems. This is a confirmed fact, they are the cause of the issues.

    To add in, pinging random website A and B gives nothing valuable to compare to pinging FFXIV's servers. Especially if they aren't even hosted in the same areas.

    Packet loss can occur anywhere on the path from the OP's computer to the datacenter hosting FFXIV. I would recommend running a traceroute and if you haven't, post it in the Support forums thread. (Maybe here if you want other users with tech knowledge to take a look at where your connection is going bad.)

    It may also be wise to try a trial of WTFast or another gaming VPN to see if it's possibly the route you get from your ISP to the game which is causing the packet loss.
