So I just attended an Eternal Bonding ceremony today, and while I'm happy for the couple and their new giant chocobo (as well as the minion, thanks guys), I can't help but feel that the ceremony itself could be made way more interesting, mainly because my previous long-term MMO had way more interesting weddings. In fact, they had two different types of weddings; you could choose between a western-styled ceremony, or a Chinese-styled one, with the couple being given different outfits based on which one they chose.
But I digress. The thing is, FF XIV weddings basically involve a couple of pretty cutscenes and the opportunity to take some fancy photos. While that's nice, there's also a whole lot more potential. Drawing on my aforementioned MMO, weddings in there involved a "Jealous Ex" gate-crashing the wedding to steal the bride away, forcing the groom and guests to fight him off. I'm not saying to copy that idea, but I am saying that it would be way more interesting than just showing up and sitting there to watch cutscenes.
So, what are some suggestions you have to improve on the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding, whether as the couple or the guests?
