Sand spheres can only really cause a wipe if more than one denotate. If just one goes off, the fight is still very much recoverable, provided that there are healers or a RDM/SMN alive to get everyone up. For the rock adds, a good trick would be to use caster LB on them. Takes them out pretty fast. If there are, for some odd reason, no casters in any of the alliances, a Ranged LB should work as well, though it’s not as potent.

I really hate the final boss here. I'm still not 100% certain on avoiding the penalty for scatter, and I don't know if there's a way to avoid death should you get the third penalty and waltz straight into the arena edge.
For Scatter, if the boss is telling the truth (angel face), you need to run around in a circle until the debuff falls off—simply continuing with your rotation/attack/combo isn’t enough; you have to actually be moving. If the boss is lying (demon face), stand completely still. Auto-attacks will still count against you. As for the wall, if you run into it and get zombified, there is nothing to save you from the insta-death that occurs afterwards. The healers just have to raise you afterwards. Best way to avoid it is to do the mechanics correctly, and avoid the stacks. (Of course, if people let too many Shades explode by not killing them fast enough, the entire alliance gets turned into chickens, which is mildly hilarious. Thankfully, the Wall-of-Death isn’t present when that happens; that would kind of suck.)
