Shirogane only furnishings

Is there a list of what inside and outside furnishings are accepted and what are not? I made metal fencing but it did not take as well as ceiling lights etc.

The only things that are restricted by housing district are the outside skin options to your house/yard. Riviera exterior walls can only be used in Mist, for example. Or Glade fences can only be used in Lavender Beds. Oasis awnings are only for the Goblet, etc. Any furnishings that go inside the house and any furnishings that go in the yard and are NOT applied via the sub-menu for 'remodel exterior' can be mixed and matched. Also exterior decorations that are not specifically labeled as Riviera, Oasis, Hingan, or Glade can also be placed in any district.

The one exception to this is the housing skin set made in the company workshop called "Shirogane Castle" which can be placed on homes outside Shirogane. The regular 'Hingan' exterior items can not be though and are only for Shirogane.

So basically city-state/GC labeled items don't work in Shirogane like a glade ceiling fan or an oasis arm chair?

Nope. Like I said, district restrictions only apply to items placed on the exterior of your house via the "remodel exterior" sub menu, i.e. fences, windows, doors, exterior walls, roofs, placards, roof decorations (chimneys/weather vanes,) and exterior wall decorations (wall chimneys/awnings.) Everything else you can put where you want.

Small correction: The roof decoration, exterior decoration and placard slots in the Remodel Exterior window are not district locked so feel free to have fun mixing those as you wish. All other slots in that menu require district specific items. As far as placed furnishings and interior fixtures, those aren't district locked at all as Rymm said.

Really? I could have sworn it wouldn't let me put a Riviera awning in my FC's Lavender Beds' house. If I'm mistaken though, that'll be awesome, I'll have to try again. xD

It should let you. It let me put the items in the slots (I didn't apply them mind you, not my house I was testing with), while it gave an error if I tried to use a riviera window in the window slot.
