450 Mining?

Hi guys, im currently level 61 miner, i have 622 perception, 535 Gathering & 604GP.

Ive been following guides off the net as im trying to collect Gyr Abanian Alumen, but the highest im getting is around 410!

ive tried numerous different rotations all of which according to the guides ive read should work

is my perception still too low? as like i say the guides ive been looking at are saying that i have more than enough perception ?

Only use + 1 or + 2 attempt nodes if you have a choice. If you need more GP to activate them, find a cheap gathering food to get you there. Use a blank node(one without any useful properties) and hit an impulsive and a meth appraisal. Note how much quality you get from each. Discerning Eye will add 50% to either of them, so if you need to figure out the math for that too. Im guessing you dont have the perception to just DE, Meth, DE, Meth, DE, Meth to get there(if you did you wouldnt have posted) - so that leaves the 4 hit rotations. So Utmost Caution is in. You could try UC, Meth, DE, Meth, DE, Meth, Meth - 600gp for 500% quality with one or two gathering attempts(this is why you use the + attempt nodes). If you have a food that gets you to 650 gp, you can add Sharp Vision to increase your odds of gathering. If 500% isnt enough, you can try this. Open the node and hit Instinctual Appraisal 2. If it doesnt proc DE, close the node and respawn. If it procs, then go all in. It would look like Imp2, *Proc*, UC, Meth, DE, Meth, DE, Meth. Thats 540% with 1/2 swings to gather. If THAT isnt getting you to the required turn in level, get more perception(this rotation itself is insane to do, you dont want to try to squeeze out more then 540%). The reason we noted how much quality we got at the beginning was that when you can get away with it, the ideal rotation uses Imp2 and turns any procs into Sharp Mind uses for extra swings. So can you afford to trade out some Meths for Imps(giving up 10/15% quality) then its 100% worth it to gamble for the free DE and the SM that lets you use. Thatd look something like UC, Imp2, SM if proc DE if not, Imp2, Imp2, SM if either of those proc'd otherwise DE, Meth(or something similar swapping Imp2s and Meths around to get you to the number you need). And remember, you get more rewards turning in 2 at the lowest rating then 1 at the highest. Best of luck!
