Dev Request: Aquapolis Drops

my FC is so small and it's hard to get more than 4 people together for treasure maps, so we still do dragonskin maps and aquapolis, since it's much easier than the... uhm... lvl 70 aquapolis with only 3 or 4 people. and the loot is worth the effort, so for me and my FC it's pretty nice that aquapolis still has expensive loot.

i guess with the new deep dungeon we will get all the aquapolis stuff through the hidden treasures, like we get all these glamour items in palace of the dead.

We still do Aquapolis and the new one every Sunday. Our loot rules is need all regardless of who's map it is. So no I don't think the loot needs fixing in the old one.

This game needs to keep certain things exclusive. I mean, you don't see anyone asking for Allagan Aetherstones to drop outside of Coils now do you? As has been said, form a static to farm Aquapolis if you really want the stuff, and saying you only do Gazelleskin nowadays is either a cop out or you need another static for Dragonskin. You may think this is flaming as well but it isn't, it's the truth.

Dear Dev Team: wool tops, etc

Please add another way to obtain Wool Top, its way to rare and extremely costly to make the Woolen rug.

You can do aquapolis with 2 people. My EB partner and I have been doing them since 60 cap, and have cleared room 7 several times. That's how we got all the music/trees and wool tops.

You did? Photo proof? You for sure need a tank/heals. Tried this is HW and you would run close time cap and/or healer with go mana dry (and a minotaur drop might wipe you). Now with the direct hit change, and a few other things, people are likely putting out more damage, but I do not think that is enough still.

Basically, I would love to do the old maps un-sync'ed, that way you truly can do them solo/duo. It is hard enough to get people to run old content as is, even if there is a large rng reward, no one likely doing stuff without there max level skills.

I don't have photo proof, no, so take this as it is but my friend and I cleared Aquapolis as a duo, too. Me on AST with shields, her on ninja for dps. Both at 70, though with the sync it shouldn't matter. Granted, this doesn't always work when there are ranged, because I drop - but it is possible.

I've soloed Aquapolis in HW, as SCH, and cleared 3 rooms before getting kicked out due to picking the wrong door. All it required was for me to put my fairy in the middle, while I grabbed aggro on all the mobs and ran in a circle around the outside of the room, throwing Ruin II/Energy Drain/Bio II/Swiftcast Miasma II/Bane at the group. Granted, it took me up to 10 minutes just to clear each room as it was, so even if I'd gotten all the doors right, I would've timed out, but it's already possible to solo Aquapolis, provided you meet the level cap of 180.

For that matter, it's also entirely possible to run Lost Canals with 3 people, all the way down to room 7. Once again, you just need people who are (a) Competent and (b) geared at ilvl 310 or above. I don't know why so many people out there are so insistent on running Gazelleskin maps with a full 8.

I've also completed Aquapolis floor 7 as well with just 2 people. WAR + SCH was our setup (post-SB, but pre-4.1 job buffs). It's not fast, by any means, but it's certainly not difficult. With that said, I didn't take note of the timer upon completion.

Always remember to focus-target the minotaur while you deal with other trash, all the swings/swipes are avoidable. Also if it doesn't spawn in a bad spot, just don't hit him, I'm pretty sure it doesn't aggro; its drops (materia 4/5s) certainly aren't worth wasting your time on these days, if you can avoid him.


With that said, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing these items elsewhere, or having the cap from Aquapolis removed.

if they stay true to their patterns the old aquapolis and probably diadem stuff will be slowly added to newer content.
like added to the drop pools of gazelle/gagana maps, The canals, i'm sure eureka will have something, the new deep dungeon tower thing, etc etc

i mean like especially diadem, even being able to get in there will become next to impossible. It already is close now and it's the source of like 3+ unqiue minions, a mount, and it's the main source for a lot of crafting materials, etc etc
