Ceremony of Eternal Bond and Name Change Question

I did a search and couldn't find an answer, but does anyone know if changing my characters name BEFORE the ceremony of eternal bonding will affect it at all?

We already made the reservation for the ceremony and I wasn't sure if I could change my characters name before the ceremony or if I need to wait till after the ceremony to not screw anything up. Anyone know?

Regardless of the Eternal Bond, your name doesn't change unless you go through with the name change process which costs extra.

Ah sorry, I know that. Maybe my wording isn't clear, I want to use the Character Renaming service, but my question was if I change it now should it mess up the reservation I have currently scheduled? So if the reservation is next Tuesday and I pay for the name change today will it affect the invitations or anything like that.

My question came cause I know the name is printed on the invitations, so if I purchase the renaming service, will it change on the invitations I sent out already and stuff like that.

At worst the name will change to Obtaining Signature, but since you're on the same realm it should automatically change the name to your new name. Obtaining Signature is used when the character is no longer on the realm (or when the character is on the realm and called "Obtaining Signature", yes I've seen it!)

Its fine and the ring will change to New name.

Afaik names still continue be linked to your character ID so nothing bad will happens, you'll see your new name. Same happens with FC, you'll change its name and the old links on lodestone continue to work, pointing to the "new" fc.
