the ffxi event is happening again

So for this event, is the reward only a shantotto minion or is there anything else to it? I was on hiatus during the last one so I missed it unfortunately.

It's unknown, but it's likely it will not be the original FFXI event which indeed rewarded a Wind Up Shantotto minion (that event was to coinicide with FFXI's eleventh anniversary of service and tied in with the FFXI A Shantotto Ascension mini expansion).

Most likely this will instead be the second FFXI event featuring Iroha that is connected to the FFXI Rhapsodies of Vana'diel missions that officially completed FFXI's storyline - the reward for that event is Iroha's Eastern-themed armour (head, body, feet, legs and hands).

In fact, given the Far Eastern connections of Stormblood, it's almost guaranteed to be the Iroha event, meaning if you missed out on the Shantotto minion, you're out of luck sadly.

It would be nice if they actually /do something with Iroha/ since the last time it was made clear that she just continued to wander Eorzea unable to return back to Vana'diel >.>

FFXI is also getting ffxiv (and DRAGON QUEST X ONLINE) event this November.

This is nice for the newbies who joined in stormblood and missed it I guess, but I already have my gear, and it's not really a seasonal event you help others with or can do for the fun of it.

And I was right, it's confirmed: the FFXI event is the second one, the one that featured Iroha, and it's also confirmed there is no new gear or items offered this time, it's the same reward.

So if you already completed that event the first time then you can't do it again, but you can still participate in the fun special FFXI-themed FATEs that are a part of it (the 'Dooms party'-parody battle on the beach at Bloodshore against Robber Crabs, the fight against Serkhet in the desert in Southern Thanalan, the fight against Kindred outside Haukke Manor, and the parody 2.3 story mission battle against Dark Dragon and Spotter next to Camp Bronze Lake.).

I am glad this is returning for those who missed it! Awesome

However I wonder..will see a new FFXI event? Or any at all? Yokai Watch was just redone too..I am all for re-releasing events..super happy about it, I just wish at the same time we could get some new ones too! ^^
