    MCHs: Do We Want Lead Shot Back?

    In an effort to give the devs a clear picture of what we want, and as a general consensus among us, I ask you 2 questions:

    1. Do we want Lead Shot back?

    2. Do we want it as its own skill, or merged into Hot Shot?

    Remember: SMNs asked for Sustain back, and they got Sustain back. . .

    I'd prefer merge given how the MCH is setup but they'd have to do something about the 18s vs 60s duration difference.

    60s duration dot seems outrageous so I'd like Hot Shot and Lead Shot to be merged and set to 30s.

    The difference here is that sustain was only useful for soloing and thus the dev's won't have to do any additional balancing for sustain. Adding anything that would cause your dps to rise will require them to do work so I can almost guarantee this won't come back.

    They got sustain back because it has almost no bearing on the game's balance.

    It's pretty obvious they got rid of as many dots as they could across jobs to get rid of the problem in 24-man content. They won't be giving them back.

    That's not a certain assumption. Maybe they just realized giving dots to everyone wasn't a solution for the holes in gameplay, and only led to all jobs beeing sustained and low flavor.

    No, Lead Shot is boring, just like every DoT in every class that's out of combo.

    Give us Grenado Shot back to proc off of ammo from Spread Shot.

    I'd want it back, if only because timing it to snapshot buffs adds another choice to make for optimizing damage.

    What I really want though is for a mechanic I interact with more than once a minute. I found actively managing heat in 4.0 to be fun, but I recognize that was difficult and frustrating for some people. We don't have to go back to that, but heat needs to be something more interactive than "Raging Strikes but with a cooldown timer that works a little differently". I want MCH to have more variety in its rotation and more to do in the space between Wildfires. I want Cooldown to be more meaningful than a filler skill during Wildfire, or to be replaced by something that is. Lead Shot would work, but something else entirely could too.

    I’d rather be more rewarded for managing a high heat level, say >80, than getting a dot. Maybe give us a damage boost somewhere between 2-5%. DoTs are great, but they’re easy to maintain. Plus, we kind of have the infinite dot in the form of turrets.

    Then again, it’d be really nice to be able to deploy our other turret when we use overdrive on the currently deployed one. Mitigates a bit of the dps loss of mistiming overdrive & redeploying rook even though bishop has a limited range. Being able to deploy both at the same time would be amazing.
