    Arc, gld, mrd, pug...

Which one should I level next? <help me out>

I haven't played any of them since the changes in 1.20. I'm not looking for functionality for endgame events, my lnc and thm get me into pretty much w/e run I'd want to go to. I'm just looking for one that would be fun to level up next.

I consider myself more of a DD at heart than anything else. I would like to play a job that's self sustaining. I'm not against pt play, in fact I quiet enjoy it, but I want a job that handles very nicely when solo'ing duo'ing as well.

Not looking for an epeen fight about which job is the best, just looking for opinions from those who have played / are playing arc, gld, mrd, and pug.

    Thanks in advance ^^v

Marauder is pretty good for soloing (high damage, lots of HP and selfheal). Also has a combo that works from the front. It's also pretty funny when you stand in the middle of huge amount of mobs and hit them nonstop with that counter-attack which is aoe (forgot the name xD).

I leveled pgl first cause i'm a mnk kinda guy. Then i leveled gla for endgame, then lnc, then mrd. I avoided archer because i really didn't like rng in ffxi. To my surprise archer is most fun after pgl!

    archer!

I think every class has a combo that works in front of the target, then another that works from behind and at left and right from the target. Maybe the only that avoid this is archer but gla, mrd, lnc and pgl work this way.

Well, i leveled a few classes and i can tell u that archer is a sure bet, especially after 1.21 with bard job, you'll get a good DD and buffer at the same time, i dont know but for me its in the first 2 spots of damage dealing, some say that lancer does more damage, but imo it does more if u know the drill

He was asking about arc, gla, mrd and pug. And pug and gla have combos that start from the front but require you to move to the sides after that.

and yeah archers only needs to be away 10 yalms to trigger combos, so u'll be doing more combos in the long way

PGL and MRD are really fun though I do prefer PGL for fun factor, they also do amazing damage with howling fist and are decent single target tanks (though I did find myself able to large group tank in SH with a bit of effort thanks to Aura Pulse). Arc can be fun as well and are really easy to play without having to worry about moving around a target for combos. I found GLD boring myself.

Loving the opinions, thanks again guys.

Which would you say would be best for long solo grinding sessions? I tend to go lone wolf every now and then. I.e. Which one would be best for nonstop fighting with little to no downtime to recover hp.

I think I'm at a toss up between doing mrd or pug next.

probably MRD though PUG wouldnt be an HP issue but more of a mp issue if you use your elemental fist buffs (which are in no way required but do add a good deal of extra damage) then again you do have sanguine right from THM which may help with that.
