A Journey's End, A Rekindled Love and a new realization.

Hello, my apologies for yet another topic, but I just wanted to update and felt that a new topic would be best since I cover something unrelated to my previous two topics. So to sum up a long and boring babble fest, by continuing to force myself to play Summoner, I've rekindled my love for it and will be going back to maining it (once I finish farming LoTA for the Crimson Chest with Rdm, curse you chest). After much playing and thinking and fiddling with hot bars, I figured out the root of my problem and while I can't fix it, I am able to accept it.

The problem I figured out I was having is the Job's button bloat. Now I don't mean there are too many attacks, actually the "rotation" of Smn is super easy to me, just as easy as Rdm has been so far. No, what I mean is the redundant buttons that could be consolidated into a single context sensitive button, like how they are in PVP. Basically I just feel it a bit dumb to have to need two slots for Dreadwrym Trance & Death Flare and Summon Bahamut & Enkindle Bahamut when in PVP mode I only need one slot for them. I dunno, just bugs me and makes me feel so lost in hot bar setup when trying to accommodate for them.

At the moment, I've worked around the issue by turning L3 into a macro button and having a Sprint macro on it so I sprint with L3 and that freed up up front property to just make a setup that is comfy enough for me to manage. I've been debating on doing something similar to R3 and turning it into Aetherflow, but perhaps you guys can advise me on if that would be a good idea or not.

Anywho, to sum this up, I manage to find my love of Smn again, but just annoyed at the redundancy of some buttons and just wish the function of those buttons that exists in PVP was also applied to them for PVE.

having a combo button might not be a bad idea for pve but the only problem i could think of is then the game have preset the way you are suppose to play and theres no freedom. now if they give us a customizable combo button then that will be nice!
you can somewhat make a similar fashion combo button macro like for mnk but theres some slowdown issue. because the macro will search/try to active the first line action if its ocd but if its not then it will try to active line 2 and so on. anyway what i want thr customizable combo button is you set the first button press its this action then after cast/gcd it will be another action that you choose and so on amd with no delay at all

I recently reached 60 on both DRG and SAM. One job feels silky smooth and the other feels like busy work. If the game got rid of all the bullshit spinning plate rotation skills you would have way more hotbar room and possibly not suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome.

You have a point for most things, but in this case it would not have any negative effects and only positive effects. As it stands now, when you are not in Dreadwrym Trance, there is no way to use Deathflare and on the flip side, when you are able to use Death Flare, there is no way to use Dreadwyrm Trance (since you already pressed it and are in that mode). The same applies to Summon Bahamut and Enkindle Bahamut. In PVP the way they work is that when you press Dreadwyrm Trance, it'll then change into Deathflare until you either use the skill or Dreadwyrm Trance ends. The same works for Summon Bahamut, when pressed it changes to Enkindle Bahamut for use until Demi-Bahamut is over. They've already done this for Warriors and some of their skills have been added into context sensitive buttons that change based on the stance a Warrior is in, I'm just wanting that same QoL for Summoner is all.
