More wards?

Do they have any plans to add new wards in the future? I don't mean new areas like Kugane, just more than 12 wards to existing residential areas.

I ask because it's basically impossible to acquire housing on my server so you're SOL if you wanted a house at this point... :\

30 plots per area(standard and subdivision) per ward per region with shirogane it becomes 2880 total plots. With shirogane 720 more plots will be added

SE has said they will add more housing in the future, but it remains to be seen when.

No plans thus far for additional wards have been divulged. Likely they'll wait until Shirogane is filled up before even looking into it. It's always a very slow process.

Or are you suggesting that not being among the first 2,280 people on the server means you have no right to own a house? :P

The official given reason currently is the servers and bandwidth available do not allow for expansion of current wards. this may change later as resources and users change.
I don't think anyone said you didn't have any rights to anything.
Keep checking housing listings on the hour, people quit, subs lapse and plots become available occasionally.
yes it is a limited resource... nobody except the devs know why this decision was made exactly.

I feel your pain, i'm probably going to "work" from home on patch day when Kugane opens up just so i can try and jump on a plot in that ward.

One of the other problems that I'm surprised I haven't seen here is the fact of the different regions and themes of each zone.

If I'm looking to owning a Personal House I like to see all the zone around and the location itself. And that fact can be go from "I'd love to have my house near Mist's beach" to "I want my home in Mist, I hate the japanese enviroment or architecture of Shirogane".

Even if they add 3, 4 or 5 new zones with the basic wards, there will be people that will have to live in places they don't really like just to have a house because the regions or places that they really love have been occupied years ago.

Just imagine Shirogane in a month or 2.
