Something should be done about the mob placement in future expansions.

I have been wandering Yanxia, loving the music. But then I while trying to listen to it I aggro a mob, then try to run from it to just aggro another and another. This was the case on Heavensward's maps as well. I feel like when trying to achieve a more dangerous map, by spreading the mobs out to nearly every inch of it made it more of annoyance than a feeling of danger. Even as we begin to outlevel the mobs in the expansion, they will still aggro. I'm kind of tired of hearing the same combat music across every map and resorting to flying everywhere I go instead of getting to enjoy the wonderfully crafted maps. Certainly there is some way to achieve a real sense of danger on the maps and not a spread the mobs out so wide that you run into one while trying to do practically ANYTHING?

Why can't we have something like the Tonberry in Wanderer's Palace roaming the map? Some incredibly deadly creature or NPC that we can't kill, or target, just like that Tonberry. I find that far more threatening and dangerous if I have to watch my surroundings for something like that than keep bumping into some enemy that poses no REAL threat to me except for to ruin my sense of peace and exploration.

I can't say I've ever really run into this to the point where it would be annoying. Mobs aren't that closely spaced in the wider open areas.

You could always fly while listening to the music (or get the Orchestrion roll, A Father's Pride). :B

Part of the problem I had was HAVING to fly to avoid it. There are some really nice locations in this game and its a shame to fly over most of it. There are places that some of my friends were never even aware existed in Heavensward and some even in Stormblood since a few places either aren't used (to my knowledge) or used specifically for a job quest.

I'd prefer they just let us turn off combat music.

There are always spots where there are no monsters in all areas, just find them and land there to listen.

Yes. This would be nice too. I've already turned off the mount music. Some of it is good, I mean, I like a lot of the music in the game if not all of it, but I can only listen to the same one for so long. I'm glad they've started designing more unique dungeon music. If they could have more combat music I'd appreciate it more....but the same song.....over and over. I can't do it.

The issue with danger is less the mob placement and rather just how easy the open world stuff is. I think the annoyance from aggro is a moot point with how easy it is to get away in the first place.

I think they have decreased the distance in which you could get agro from enemies in SB or sure as hell feels like it.
Like when someone sends you a tell and you think you are far enough away... nope apparently not, lol
Or even those Beast Tribe (or any quests really) were you must interact with something but stupid enemies happen to be there, or a fate pops up, etc...

Turning off mount music is the best option for this right now, though I feel you on wanting to explore the world. Kind of sad - I wish that once you reached whatever the current max level is, the mobs would stop coming after you even if they aren't 11 levels below you. But as it stands, I think that if you're level 70 then most mobs have a pretty generous range. You can get pretty close without them rushing to attack you.
