I met one of my best friends while doing fates in northern thanalan. He was shit-posting in shout chat, and I started going along with it. Eventually I noticed he had no fc, so I asked him if he wanted to join mine, he said why not.

Tl;dr make really stupid jokes in shout chat, eventually someone who's just as stupid as you are will notice.

I dont make friends in these sorts of games, people are less friends and more like fellow employees that I dont see when Im off work. No singular person has ever treated me like anything less, so I go into it with the same mentality.

I've never really played any MMOs before this one, so I'm still trying to figure out the social dynamic a bit lol. I still have a bit of social anxiety, though it's not as bad as it once was and I tend to be a bit more comfortable talking to people online. The hardest part for me is getting through the first bits of conversation and getting to know people, but once I'm comfortable with a person/people I can be a lot more outgoing. But anyway, yeah I can relate to this haha.

I have a small FC that is really a small family. One day I just ran into this damn lala that started talking with me, and I've been proud to be a part of the family for the past 2 years now. It's grown a bit, but the core never changes. Sometimes you just don't know who youll run across when you just throw out a friendly "Hello"

I’ve met people through PF; made some friends farming Diadem 2.0 to finally get the mount; and I’ve made a couple friends from the OF as well. :3 I’m fairly quiet in FFXIV and in real life, and I’m really shy, but sometimes you just meet someone and click with them. I just try to be as polite as I can, help when and where I can, and eventually, I end up talking more with someone, who eventually becomes a good friend. But you have to put yourself out there; people won’t always come to you. Sometimes, they do, but such is a rarity. Don’t be afraid. There are lots of people out there who are kind, and a lot of people out there that also want friends.
