    A True Roulette

I always liked the idea of a roulette in which one would receive some sort of exp multiplier for having different types of jobs unlocked. For example, have a dps and healer that meet an ilvl requirement for a certain set of roulettes? 1.5 the normal xp and you play whichever based on community need but all exp goes to the job you queued up with at the time. Another increase to the exp modifier if one also possesses a tank that meets the minimum ilvl for whichever roulette you fancy, thereby allowing you the greatest utility.
Ilvl could lock people out the same way levels do, not allowing one to queue into roulette duties that require a higher ilvl than one posseses on said class.
I feel as though that would not only have the potential to speed up the queues for dps as not everyone would end up as what they originally queued as, it would also add excitement as well as a possible appreciation for the different jobs and (though I feel I am dreaming) an added amount of patience and understanding for hopefully everyone in the DF. In reality it may just devolve into "I can do A with X skill, why can't you?" but I prefer to be optimistic. I also realize that many will have no interest in the exp modifier as their passion for a job or type will deter them, and such is fine, but those who simply want to level without the long waits could certainly take advantage of this.
For those who worry about this becoming a scenario akin to jump potions, I feel as though people that are good are good, or become so quickly. Those that aren't never quite catch up, so the issue isn't really people not playing their jobs thoroughly and being unable to assist a party at maximum potential, it is more that people will continue to play to their individual maximum potential regardless, they will just get to 70 faster, which will happen either way.
Don't want to to queue into the true roulettte? Don't! Simple enough. Perhaps queue times will be more equal now that others have the option. Mainly I just like the idea of not knowing what you will be doing, queue to queue. Sounds like my kind of spice. Just my two cents.

So you basically only ever tank and level all your jobs without playing them? Sorry my friend but that very point already doesn't work.

And on the squadron fill, if two dps queue up, one of which wants to just add his bots and one of which really doesn't want to, what happens then? Does the non-botter get to say no and anger the botter who'll likely just requeue, or does he get dragged in as soon as one person say fill with squad? I know I surely wouldn't want to play with bots, as they are simply put quite dumb.

Getting flashbacks of Guild Wars all over again. Not necessarily a bad thing (if done right). There's pros and cons to doing this type of thing in an MMO though. Sure you can allow dps classes to use npcs (let's be real, they're the only ones waiting around for long periods of time) but just like in Guild Wars when this was implemented people became less social and you had less people to run with because everyone was now able to do it themselves. It becomes more of a solo experience than anything else at that point.

Just some things to keep in mind.

Role-less roulette seems like the pragmatic solution to this problem. First, it would have to be implemented in a way that the player can only choose either the lvling roulette or the role-less one for the day. Then the exp and rewards would have to be balanced to give pause to the choice, that way one roulette isn't necessarily overplayed than the other.

I'm aware PotD exists but it has reached its usefulness at lvl 60.

They tried that in HW and supposedly it didn't really budge. The problem isn't that people don't have a healing or tanking job they like, but it's tanking and healing they dislike. I mean, that'll be nice for people who already play those roles, but unlikely it will make that much of a difference

it didn't ppl played them to try them but ppl who play tank stuck to it, people who played healer stuck to it.

i don't hate on ppl either tanking/healing is not for everyone. And this community kinda isn't that great when it comes to fresh tanks/healers. Not all ppl are bad/ rude to new tanks/healers but too much is forced on them.

So will we be oppressing the npcs or will they have full voting rights and be able to kick the scrub pc players from the group?
