The creepiest thing I've experienced. Back when I was in Hyperion and housing was introduced, my FC was able to buy a medium plot in The Mist. While remodelling, I get in the house and I found this guy sitting on the couch:

Second creepiest thing was when I teleported to the Limsa Aetheryte on Tonberry as a bikini-clad, female miqote and was immediately mobbed by 5 or 6 men (elezen, hyur, roe) all wearing metallic gold business suit glamours. One of them initiated a trade and offered me 100 boiled eggs (?!). They followed me as I ran off around Limsa, and eventually I teleported to get away from them.

The first time I encountered those teleporting gil farmers was pretty unsettling, because I kept catching glimpses of what appeared to be Lalafells flying across my screen.

I thought I was seeing things at first because they were moving so quickly.

Ongoing joke on my server, but i am known for disliking the potato race.

So every now and then people will stalk me as potatoes wearing nothing but skin coloured underpants. A particular event a few months back had 30 or so just following me around, obviously hiding behind corners giggling at me.

Naked Lalas dancing around me while I'm crafting (bad enough). Then they all disappear at once, and, seconds later, I get an Amber Alert on my phone.

I once zoned into Ul'dah, and found the open space near the zone line for the market area FULL of what I assume were bots- male Hyurs, all standing stock still, in perfect straight lines, each wearing a green dalmatica, white sugarloaf hat, and other mismatched pieces of clothing I can't recall because it was a couple of years ago. None of them were speaking either, and it was extremely unsettling.

One time I was in Uldah near the quicksand (cant remember if it was the end of 1.0 or the beginning of 2.0) and apparently there was a npc that would spawn into the area shouting "please help my son!" "please help me!" and the like well no users/other npcs were in the area just me and a roegadyn just shouting "HELP ME HELP MY SON!". I wasnt dced completely because I could still talk in LS' but I was stuck there in that world with just that npc? Well I tried talking to the npc and it crashed my client afterwards. I can't remember if that was 100% of the details because it was so loong ago, but that was pretty much the Gist of it.

IN 1.0 sometimes when you went to bed in an inn you'd wake up to a nightmare of nael killing everyone. Well i didn't know about it since it didn't always happen and that was surprising when I logged on. No one believed me that it really happened since none of my friends had ever gotten that CS haha.

That undead (and rotting!) gobbue boss in Lost City of Amdapor (NM). That thing still gives me goosebumps every time I see it...

The last few weeks of 1.0's service with Dalamud looming huge and bloated in the sky, storm clouds blocking out the sun and thus there wasn't even any day or night cycle any more, and that spooky, distorted a capella version of Answers (Answers: Reprise used in the Rising event is not the same track incidentally) replacing all zone BGM was just so unsettling, it really did seem like the end was nigh...
