Hello, this isn\\'t a troll thread or anything and I know some people are gonna "come at me", but as the title says, why are you still playing this game? .

you're asking others "why do you still play?" but you should be asking yourself "what do I want to play?". You clearly sound burned out, which is fine, but your problem wont be solved by reaching out; you need to look inwards.

basically everything you pointed out can be said about any game made. you will get 1000 different responses but none of them will change your mind.

I play it because I love it. I have a lot of fun with many of the things this game offers, especially the creative possibilities. I do take breaks sometimes, but I always do that knowing I'll be back. Eorzea is like a second home for me, I just really enjoy it ^^

No one can find a reason for you to stay but yourself. If you don't know why you're staying, then maybe you should take a break and find something else that you'll find fun!

I really don't care if it's challenging or not, I just love playing it, the story and the people u meet on the way and how friendly everyone is. (mostly there always some bad apples) though i'm always saying it is FFxiv fault that i cant play other game´s, but in reality its is just because i haven't found another game that i like playing as much as FFXIV.

With the release of AC:Origins and Destiny 2 I've been playing a bit less but for now my main goal is to get all my classes (especially tank and healers) to 70.

I have been playing since beta of 1.0 (didn't make the first 30 days of 1.0 release though), and still find I have a ton to do. I have all my combat classes to 70, but I am just now (after years of playing) getting into leveling my gatherers and crafting, I also like to do things I am not comfortable doing, like pvp, and now I have all the mounts and a bunch of titles from that, and tanking, for which I am going for my battle tank mounts. There is always something to keep me going (like a carrot on a stick).

I still play it because it is the best MMO out there out of all the ones I've played. This includes GW, Conan, FFXI, AION, Blade & Soul, Lineage II, Black Desert, Echo of Soul, PSO2, etc.

I actually feel like I can progress in this game unlike most of the ones i listed.

Also the story is the best part, can't wait for part two of Rabanastre and more msq :3

Because I'm a masochist.

But really probably because 2 of my old ffxi friends still play and we have a small house etc... I guess till we find another game that raises the bar or brings some kind of x-factor to MMO's.

Because bots and such do not bother my daily MMO life.
In other games like BnS, bots and RMT are like everywhere...in all the instances, automated ganking in pvp areas...etc

Because I don't get carpal from clicking, unlike in more "action packed" MMOs.

Because crafting is not (yet) dumbed down to the level of a 3 year old. And no limits in quantity of items.

Because the cash shop does not (yet) give anyone any in-game advantage. There is the matter of retainers but its still fairly tolerable.

Because I use this game to keep my Japanese in use, which no Western MMO can do.

And finally but not least because of in game friends, old and new.
