Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
at 18$ for some virtual clothes somebody really doesn't know the definition of Micro
Word Origin and History for micro- Expand
word-forming element meaning "small, microscopic; magnifying; one millionth," from Latinized comb. form of Greek mikros "small, little, petty, trivial, slight" (see mica ).
When they nudge their decimal 1 time to the left i'll consider calling them Micro, at 18$ for virtual clothes might as well call them Macro

other P2P MMO like this?
do they add micro transactions this much ?
I'm ok with jump potion and what not, but clothing and past event is NO ok for me but whatever. /sigh
idk this my first and only MMO.

It's a common theme for MMOs in general. So long as it's not pay2win it's typically not an issue. It's a business first and foremost. Usually it's mostly glam/aesthetic stuff. Sometimes leveling boosts, extra exp%, repair tools, etc. Things like that. It just depends on the game really but they're all relatively harmless to the health and balance of the game. It's more about convenience and vanity items when you get down to it.

Well, sure, I think it's okay for SE to do whatever they want with their game. On a personal level I'm not very thrilled about it, especially since it's... well, been getting worse and worse over the years.
And I certainly haven't seen where they've been putting the money they've made from cash shop sales back into the game.
But alas, microtransactions are here to stay. It's not even a point of 'vote with your wallet' anymore. People with a much looser grip on their wallets are much more profitable than I am. Why would SE give a damn what I think when I just pay my $15 a month while Johnny Wallet over here is paying for every new dress, new mount and skip-potion they churn out.
mmo at first didn't do microtransactions because you pay a sub fee. but the cost of making games increased but the prices did not. they need to make money, so they followed the trend of f2p mmo and building a cash shop. It started with WoW, now most every mmo out has 1.
same for online games/single player overwatch has lootboxes, now all games do.

I can't escape you lol. I have no idea about the rest of the past events things but I sorta get the All Saints' Wake stuff being sold this year.. Seeing how they changed what the loot was. It's a good thing for people who want the glamour but wasn't playing that year. Everything else. Meh. I get your point. It sorta makes it not so special anymore.

The reality is that microtransactions have always been a slippery slope. Even if you're okay with the current state of microtransactions in FFXIV, endorsing them encourages SE to slide further down that slope, until it becomes a sheer vertical drop.

Stop with the hyperbole, both Square and Blizzard have been very good about making sure only optional items are in the store.
To further expand on this, some people may consider the additional retainers and the retainer jump potions pay to win, but that's only if you consider having a lot of gil as winning. That would be valid if you could use gil to buy the best gear for either PvE or PvP, which is not the case. As the top tier gear is always locked out from advanced melding, you can't pay someone to overmeld it, and even more, you don't need gil to buy material.
Gil has a lot of side benefits, like housing and glamour, but so long as the only way to get the best gear for PvE and PvP is to actually participate, they're fine.
Back to the original question, the jump potions are godly if you hire new retainers or if you switch a retainer's job, because leveling retainers is an exercise in tediousness. Having a lot of retainers is good if you're crafting or trying to make a lot of gil, but for most players, the 2 you get for free with more than enough to bring in gil with good venture management.
