    Monks: One Ilm Punch is still in a bad spot, what ideas would make it fun and useful?

    Greetings DPS of the Forums,

    As the title says, Monk needs something else, something more fun, applicable to the job. The melee DPS already have a stun within Leg Sweep, so why would MNK have a non-resist-able stun when it's pretty much never going to see any play?

    Potency 120, TP: 120
    Delivers an attack with a potency of 120.
    Can only be executed when in raptor form.
    Additional Effect: Grants Greased Lightning
    Duration: 16s

    Additional Effect: Changes form to coeurl.
    Duration: 10s
    What if One Ilm was a way to build your stacks back up faster? What if it made Tornado Kick a DPS increase for the job? It keeps the TP cost, so that TP management can still come into play.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

    I also am trying to think of a Riddle of Wind (Ability BUFF) Idea that would make it useful, because the double tackle is pretty useless. The stances should have the tackles without taking up job trait slots.

    I think the concept of gaining GL solely from Coeurl form abilities should be maintained. Every other proposed fix to MNK's useless abilities has something to do with managing stacks, when all that is really needed is a shorter CD on Perfect Balance and a more reliable and intuitive way of using Riddle of Earth. The other abilities should be improved to their own potential and not be bandaid solutions without adressing underlying problems. Tornado Kick needs a rework or at least a condition under which it finds use and that comes from the rotation naturally without jumping through loops to maybe gain a very slight damage increase.

    A popular idea that I also really like is to make One Ilm Punch part of the AoE rotation, replacing True Strike (and possibly Twin Snakes). An added effect could improve the next Arm of the Destroyer (less TP and/or more damage).

    Move it to the OGCD. Give it a minor cooldown (10-20 seconds). Let it remove buffs as normal. Add a Refresh for Greased Lightning. Removing a Buff grants one stack of Greased Lightning.

    Tornado Kick would have to have its cooldown nerfed to compensate for allowing One Ilm Punch to grant Greased Lightning. Otherwise it completely breaks the flow of the job. A 1-minute cooldown would be sufficient and line up with internal release.

    Even with this suggestion, Tornado kick wouldn't see much use; it's just too big a DPS loss to use outside of situation that result in losing GL anyways. The only way Tornado Kick would ever be included in any rotation is if it only used 1 GL stack and not all 3.

    As for the topic, it's not a terrible suggestion but it would be unneeded if SE would just lower the CD of PB to a reasonable time. One Ilm Punch just needs to be converted to an AoE attack already so it at least has a purpose.

    It used to be very useful in PvP, and Haymaker was useful if you were soloing... And that's the thing. I'm fine with some skills only applicable to solo or PvP situations, but SE completely changed PvP, making it its own separate thing, and solo (stuff like leves etc.) is too easy to justifying having skills only for those situations. The only thing that matters it seems is endgame PvE. So if SE only streamline skills with endgame PvE in mind, I would rather see them remove all the useless skills.

    I like the idea of putting One Ilm Punch into the aoe rotation. (It's right between Arm of the Destroyer and Rockbreaker in my toolbar anyways^^)
    Instead of doing pure aoe dmg, it could put a dot on the target, which can be spreaded by Rockbiter.

    About GL:It would be fine, if Square wouldn't keep creating bosses that disappear just long enough to loose our stacks, or that don't do any dmg to us at all so Riddle of Earth doesn't work, or that do aoe's you better don't stand in...

    I'm also sad about Tornado Kick beeing used so rare. It's our highest potency attack. Imagine SAM or SMN had such a massive drawback on their Midare Setsugekka or Bahamut Summon.

    My Suggestions:
    -Increase Tornado Kicks Cooldown and don't make it loose all GL stacks.
    -Or increase the cooldown even more and let it build up 3 stacks. So you have to decide "Am I using Tornado Kick right now, or do I keep it back in case I loose my stacks?"
