Developers! Please Read! (Mounts/Minions)

I have more alts than I have fingers (over two accounts before someone gets technical), and I want them all kept separate. Just because my main character has something doesn't mean all my other characters should. In fact I've greatly enjoyed getting things again a second time on other character.

Admittedly things like the events are a pain in the neck as it's a lot of running round doing the same thing over and over (and with the Halloween event I just didn't even bother for most of them), but I still like them kept separate.

The whole point of starting with a new character is just that, it's a new character. It shouldn't have any ties to your main character, it has its own story and its own achievements.

Sorry, but you've lost me? I can't remember ever wanting the same thing across my characters, they're separate characters and are I treat them as such.

No one said it cannot be optional.

They can simply make it optional when you create the alt if you want it to share mounts from a character of your choosing and also if they add the system a one time thing for all existing alts if they want to share the mounts of another character.

So yeah there is a way to implement it so it is optional for people who want their character's separate.

For mounts, perhaps, but Minions actually have utility outside of aesthetic. They are Lord of Verminion, and certain minions are required in order to spawn certain S rank hunt marks

I understand what you are trying to say, but it doesn't really matter for that.

I mean what is the difference between me on my alt playing LoV or me on my alt helping to spawn an S Rank? I could just switch to my main and do either of those with my main's stuff anyway.

(Also just for the record LoV is a very weak argument to use against this. LoV was a flop. Barely anyone touches that and it is simply only a mini-game.)

Both characters are on the same account so you cannot be online on them at the same time which basically nullifies any advantage.

Seasonal stuff yeah I understand that and they likely want more money, but if they had to they could even make those omitted along with story and just do the rest.

I agree, but I think it should be limited to Mog Station and limited-time rewards. Mounts like the Yokai ones or Ranked PVP and minions like the Yokai, Dragon Quest, or Wind-up Shantotto that won’t ever be available on alts for players who already put the work into earning them should be account-wide. That goes for other related items as well such as Garo gear/titles and the FFXI Iroha gearset. Mounts like the ponies/birbs/doggos and minions like the wind-up primals or npcs or dungeon drop minions are all still accessible in some capacity, so I’m on the fence about these particular ones. As an option, maybe, but I’d still like to earn them the old fashioned way on my alts if I’m able.
