The thing is that there's really not any point in having more than 1 characters in FFXIV since you can do all jobs and story with the same one so this system is obsolete here, in WoW it's almost impossible to stick with 1 character because youl get burned out almost immediately

This is simply not true. A lot of people still love having alts in this game. So you think it is pointless, but that doesn't automatically mean everyone else thinks the same way you do.

Also you are forgetting that gear is locked per week so if you wanted to actually play more than one job in current content when it is released and not be really low item level and no way to improve it then you would need an alt in order to actually make progress and get higher item level.

Like I main a healer...if I wanted to main a DPS and have some fun in savage on DPS too I need an alt because my item level on my main for DPS jobs will be continuously stuck at low item level for a long time since all my weekly locked gear goes towards my healer.
