Sadly, I never experienced what 3.x DRK was like so I'm not really sure what this entails. Maybe a clear explanation on the first post of what the old reprisal was like would help people who are new to drk understand what your wanting done. I really like the animation though. If its as good as you are making it out to be, this and souleater hp outside of grit would be golden.
I don't necessarily disagree, but at the same time it would be a little bit of a shame. I'm constantly amazed when I'm pugging how rarely I see reprisal go up outside of my own.
Bad idea, you're completely ignoring why it was removed in the first place. SE doesn't want to balance around these boring low effort/high uptime debuffs. Path, Delirium/DK and Reprisal were all removed because of that, but they're fine with mitigation you actually have to plan out which is why Divine Veil got to stay, Passage of Arms was added, Reprisal became 5s uptime/60s cooldown, and other roles got Virus/Feint as role skills. Don't expect SE to want to balance fights around one tank having a 2/3 uptime 10% debuff while the others have skills available way less often. That's just asking for DRK to be required in every group.

Theres one small feature you forgot to mention, old 3.x storm's path debuff could be kept up and reapplied whenever. It was a damage reduction for 10% (I think) that sat on the GCD. Reprisal 3.x was the same yes, however it was an OGCD with a short duration, which it sat on a 30sec CD and you couldn't proc it without parrying something first.

SE didn't want to balance around tanks getting to swap stances for free, and it was a bad idea to give that perk to just one tank, and yet here we are.
The game's balance will survive the restoration of 3.x Reprisal.
I'm okay if DRK gets it back as long as the 4.0 version stays in the cross-Job pool as I use it with PLD (technicly gives DRK 2 reprisal's like how PLD can techically have 2 different stun moves), as long as it doesn't stack I think it would be fine
