    New DPS Job Idea - Time Mage!

    Advent of the Time Mage

    A new way to manipulate aether and magical energies has been discovered, and it is most intriguiging indeed...the ability to wield Time Magic! Unfortunately, the abilities discovered thus far do not allow large-scale manipulation of space or time to allow, for instance, large-scale time travel or inter-galactic teleportation. Yet, the microscale manipulations of the flow of spacetime create a powerful moveset for the Time Mage!


    Time Mage is a DPS support-based burst-damage job whose primary function is similar (but more potent than) Bard, whereby buffs and debufffs and given to enemies and party members to tip the scales in the party's favor. Of the few ways the Time Mage does have to damage the foe, all are focused on burst damage, particularly using its deadly Armageddon Counters. Time Mage, like Red Mage, will be able to perform both Spells and Weaponskills, though Time Mage's handle on melee-based combat is vastly secondary to its magic moves.

    The Time Mage wields a switchblade dagger in the mainhand, which it uses for weak close combat battle. It is most comfortable from afar, though, and wields a timepiece in the offhand to concentrate the aetheric manipulations of the time flow in the area.

    (Armageddon Counter Meter: The main meter of the Time Mage. Must be activated (turned "on") through the use of Prophetic Blow I. A small indicator will show whether it is on or not. The Meter builds up power from 1 to 10, and each time a Prophetic Blow I, II, or III attack is dealt, there is a chance that the meter's power is unleashed all at once, resetting it to 0 and turning it off. This chance is equal to 10% times the level of the Meter. When its power is unleashed, for each level it built up, it sends an instant attack of whatever Prophetic Blow attack unleashed it. This means up to 10 attacks in quick succession of Prophetic Blow I, II, or III could pummel the target, a deadly proposition.)

    NOTE: In case it's not obvious, enemies and players may only be affected by one Haste/Slow at a time. A new one cast means the old is overriden.

    Lv 1 Prophetic Blow I
    Spell, 1.2s Cast, 2.5s cooldown, MP 250
    Deals unaspected damage with a potency of 100. Activates Armageddon Counter meter or (if already activated), adds 1 to its stack (max. 10).

    Weaponskill, Instant, 12s cooldown, 100 TP
    Teleports to the target, delivers an attack to the target with a potency of 50, teleports to a random open place within a 1y radius of the target or another nearby target and repeats, up to four total attacks in quick succession.

    Deals unaspected damage with a potency of 150. Also, if Armageddon Counter meter is already active, adds 2 to its stack (max. 10).

    Envelops a designated area in a time-enhanced veil. Allows all allies within area to execute attacks and skills 2% faster, and all enemies will execute attacks and skills 2% slower. Also boosts the effects of Haste (and upgraded forms) and Slow (and upgraded) forms by 50%. Players and enemies must be inside affected area to receive boosts. Duration: 45s Radius: 5y

    Adds 2 to current Armageddon Counter status (max 10). Cannot be used outside of battle. Prophetic Blow I still needs using before this to turn Armageddon Counter on.

    Spell, 6s Cast, 600s cooldown, MP 600
    Can only be cast while Armageddon Counter is 8 or higher and Spacetime Warp is in effect, and affects the same designated area. A black hole opens up beneath the designated area. Instantly kills all enemies within. Bosses and other special enemies instead taken unaspected damage with a potency of 700. Removes the Spacetime Warp effect.

    TLDR What does the Time Mage do?

    Essentially, this Time Mage primarily uses skills to reduce/nullify damage/costs for the party while speeding up their moves, while at the same time slowing down enemies and giving them statuses by "aging" them prematurely. As far as damage goes, it has a couple of Weaponskill techniques meant to combo together but mostly focuses on building up its Armageddon Counter meter with Prophetic Blow I, II, and III. They all do low damage (100, 150, and 200 potency), but when the Armageddon Counter activates (based on a random percentage), it causes a catastrophic burst of damage all at once. Overall, the Time Mage's damage output would be the lowest DPS'er job, but in short bursts could be the highest.
