    Stat priorities for tanking

I'm curious if there were any particular stats you should be focusing on whilst melding materia into your equipment. I've heard a lot about how much Direct Hit is good for overall damage, but what about Tenacity/Determination? I want to hear your thoughts on what stats are best for tanking.

DH is the best for dps, Tenacity for progression, and Det is when you can't put Ten in a stuff.

Most of the raiders said that a built with Ten/ Det is better for prog, and DH when you know the fight very well/ if you're overstuffed.

Personnally, as a WAR, I prefer DH.

No one is even going tenacity for Ultimate. Don't bother with it and just go full DH. Tenacity remains to be seen as useful for now, Crit and Det are your next after DH.

The reason for DH is tanks do not get any on their gear naturally, we got tenacity instead. Because of how well DH scales, and the fact that our gear already comes with favorable secondaries, (crit/det) DH is the better meld choice than the other secondary stats. You can't meld enough tenacity with the current stat caps on gear to justify its worth over the raw DPS increase from melding DH.

+1 to melding DH on your left side pieces. It’s too good of a stat right now.

Yeah, it's exactly that. If we can try a 2500 + Tenacity, then it should be interresting.

I see this being thrown around a lot, but doesn't pass the smell test to me. The highest logs right now have insane crit/direct-hit crit rates, it makes a huge difference on "lucky" runs. How are you ever going to have enough crit or dh if you dump 2500+ points into tenacity? I can't prove or disprove one way or the other, but logically I don't see how it works. As it stands you have to get lucky with crit rate if you want a top log, and gearing for tenacity isn't going to do squat for your crit/dh rate. The damage reduction is not needed in current content, and it would be silly of SE to design the next encounters in such a way that would mandate tanks gear for tenacity for the damage reduction. I don't know. Just my thoughts.

Was specifically replying to the "no one" comment, though if you look at their gear sets they went max tenacity option in every slot that had the option on 340 gear. The War uses 1 dh where they could've melded tenacity, other than that every piece is capped on both tanks on the left side.

Well for 1 thing, I meld 0 tenacity and i haven't been 1shot by any Twint or Nael with CDs. The last Bahamut fight has yet to be seen on streams, if any imho, they just chose to do Tenacity build just in case. Most of the time that tanks get to live longer to see the next mechanics after all, they have their reasons and we don't know why for sure.
