Well, OP dropped out of this conversation a while ago. But I'll leave this here for posterity.
First off, it's Final Fantasy - not Final Reality. We are not human beings, we are Warriors of Light. We're not playing a war simulator. It's a fantasy themed MMORPG. And we play the role of a badass.
Please show me in what dungeon there are even 20 mobs to pull. Formidable mobs, that is, not paltry add spawns that will die after a few hits. Secondly, the only person in any real danger is the tank him/herself, as long as the tank is alive the group is in no danger unless you can't dodge giant orange circles on the ground. Which leads in to:
Whatever you're trying to say here.. I don't know. But I have absolutely zero problems dodging enemy aoes while keeping up aoe attacks. As another poster mentioned, the range is quite large for melee attacks, you don't have to stand in the mobs hitbox, or next to the mob, you can stand nearly a whole 5 yalms away, which is basically right at the edge of most aoes. At most you lose an auto-attack or 2. If you're honestly having that much of a problem dodging melee range aoe you should just re-roll a ranged dps. Cuz it ain't hard. And after running the same dungeons 100's of times, you really act surprised every time you see an aoe go out? If you've been playing for any length of time you should be very well informed about what mobs use aoe and when, and which ones don't.
Saying that there are so many aoe exploding which causes you to stop doing damage entirely:
And lastly,
This is somewhat true. I don't give a damn what dps or healers are wearing. Dungeon content is so easy it doesn't even matter. Furthermore, when I first got Sam to 70, I had all 300 or 310 gear, and still out-dps'd 90% of other dps I ran across in the DF. So checking gear doesn't really mean jack when it comes to determining a players capabilities. My old static co-tank runs expert dungeons on bard with me sometime, and he wears dungeon gear for spirit bonding to get materia. He puts out twice the dps of casual DF dps. In dungeon gear. So GTFO with this notion that looking at someones gear is gonna give you a good idea of how to plan on running the dungeon.
Sincerely,
Big pull tank
