    Seperate job and role glamour?

What I mean by the title is would it be possible to rework the glamour system so that it detects whether you're glamouring job-specific gear or something and if it would let you glamour something else under that.

So like for example I could glamour the Warrior AF on my tank gear but then I could also glamour something like the High Allagan set on it, which would show up whenever I'm on DRK or PLD.

It seems plausible, as it is now the game already has two layers of gear when it's dealing with AF glamours (the AF and the regular, unglamoured gear) so adding another inbetween can't be that taxing.

This is an issue I hope is addressed with the glamour overhaul YoshiP was talking about coming in the future.

Any moment now it will be revealed that WHM is cheating on SCH with MNK after having had DRG's baby and DRG is WHM's cousin who is already married to PLD.

If you're already going down that path, why not expand it to proper job glamour vs. gear glamour? The framework is already there in your suggestion, you just need to remove the limitation that the job can only have its own job specific glamour and instead make it a general glamour layer. The priority list would be Job glamour -> Gear glamour -> Base gear appearance. That way if you want to have some piece of gear shared across all jobs in that role, you can by applying the glamour to the piece of gear rather than to each job separately, but you can do whatever with the rest of it, even without limiting to job-specific gear.

Honestly the perfect solution would be to have a glamour system where you register items to a wardrobe and can freely change your glamour/color at any time without prisms. This is an idea that already exists elsewhere and it's the best glamour system.

I would also love if the glamlamour would work for example with crafter glamour on warrior glamour and so on. If the Job restriction would fall, it would open up a lot more unique glamours.

And if someones has thoughts about realism. As long as a Player can wear a chocobo or Pig costume or a bikini, what would make it unlikely if a healer wears a plate from a DRK or vice versa

I see you're a newer poster, so I'll simply inform you that you are opening up a pretty big can of worms. The thread pertains to the glamour system, not glamour restrictions, which has been a big topic of debate. I would try to stay on topic.

    OP,

You can kind of do this now if you want to use AF as your glamour, but I know that isn't quite what you have in mind. Your suggestion is only a partial fix to what the playerbase is asking for, and it would involve reworking the glamour system since the current system doesn't support glamming multiple items on a single piece of gear. If the devs are going to put forth the effort the rework the glamour system, they might as well fix it completely.

This would be lovely and I've been thinking about this exact idea for the past week or so.

Two huge things need to happen. 1. A glamour log that saves your styles so you can discard the actual pieces eating up inventory space. 2. Being able to choose a different glamour per job. I hate hate hate being forced to have all my healers and casters look exactly the same.
