There is never going to be any form of update to the character creator.
Get over it.

Or perhaps you could read comments for what they are - no one is asking for Elezen to suddenly grow scales, or for Lalas to turn into beanpoles. I've never seen people so rigidly opposed to the idea of adding more customization to our characters. If you don't like how Elezen look, why contemplate fantaing to an Elezen? They're not for you. Thats ok. They don't all have to be for everyone.
Elezen are beanpoles. Thats arguably their most defining trait. Take away the lankiness and you are left with a hyur with long ears. Saying you'd want to be an Elezen if they weren't Elezen-like is as dumb as me saying, “man, I sure would love playing a lala if they were tall, scaly, and muscular” when I could instead play a race that fits an aesthetic I actually like.
Well they add hair so that's an update to the creator.
Demand seems moderate, and since the PS3 support has been dropped people can no longer use the excuse of not enough RAM (because most modern PCs have at least 8GB system RAM and at least 1GB of VRAM, and the PS4 has 8GB GDDR5 for the whole system. The PS3 had two sets of 256MB; one for the system and the other for the graphics memory respectively). People will insist on there being too much data in the packets being sent, which can be a legitimate issue and be a source of latency, but other MMOs have shown that they can have a more robust character creation and manage data well enough.
Also I would personally love more character creation options. Might actually get me to use a fantasia if I can have choices to make my face less generic and maybe actually have a butt to /sit on.
