It just comes down to a matter of time/money invested and the return on that. If SE thinks that the more 'bestial' races are less popular and aren't going to be widely used, they don't really have much incentive to add them. Businesses gonna business, yo. I'm not saying thats how it should be, but unfortunately, thats just how it is.

Besides, I don't see that many Hyurs around. Not on my realm at least. Tons of catgirls, but catgirls.. so thats expected. Lol

It is unfortunate. But does any MMO really make alot of money off releasing new races? Who knows, they'd never tell us anyways. I just hope we actually keep getting new races.

I see alot of Hyurs around.. but no where near the levels of the female Miqotes. I'm pretty sure that Female Miqotes outnumber the combined Roe/Elezen population. Hell you could probably toss in male Au ras into that group and it still wouldn't beat the Femqotes. Catgirls everywhere.
