Dragoon-Lancer level 30 and pugilist level 15.

I think so =) can not friggen wait for 1.21 adding an evade then damage jump, an AoE pull, and 2 AoE damaging abilities. If only we had higher defenses we would be the new #1 SH grinding class.

In the 1.20 dats, there is a Wyvern model (large).

I can't help but wonder if the "Wyvern Dive" move will summon it for a fly-by breath attack.

It would certainly throw a bone to the FFXI wyvern pet fans without deviating too much from the classical DRG approach that us FF veterans desperately want to see.

throwing this question on all my advanced job threads to see what direction people want that class to go (since its now p2p). so what other advanced jobs do you think they should or could implement threw lancer and a description of the job and their role

Maybe I'm just not all that creative. But I can't think of any other FF jobs that used a spear. The only other job that would make sense is Samurai.

I'd have to say that indeed as far as FF lore goes, most people associated spear users with Dragoons/Lancers. Even Samurai was stretching it, seeing as the spear was more of a secondary weapon since samurais in past FF games exclusively used katanas and/or great katanas.

Therefore it's hard to imagine anything else than Dragoon. The team behind FFXIV isn't limited to past jobs though, they very well could invent a new one.
