They did in HW. You could upgrade the set gear.
IKR? I LOVE the HW goldsmith set. I was so sad when the ironwork set came out because I had to stop wearing my goldsmith gear. :'< I'd have them all look like that set if I had a chance.

Don't know but I'm gonna get all of them. Yoshida said that player wishes for the new glamour system are mostly all fulfilled, so I'm putting my money on that it's an overhaul that detaches glamour from actual gear pieces, making it possible for each class to have its own look if not multiple looks while all wearing the same shared gear.

I hope it won't be better than the current left side. I really don't want to farm the set for every craft. Weapon were long enough.

I really do not see much use for the scrip gear, to be honest. Its not hard to craft the gear, and then meld it to be better than scrip gear. Its also not hard (though time-consuming, I’ll admit) to craft stuff to sell to make enough money to buy the crafted gear, if unwilling to level the requisite crafting class. Ultimately, it is cheaper and faster to become an omnicrafter and just shift Specialists around to craft it all yourself. Which, once more, leaves no real place for the scrip gear.

It's mostly for aesthetic purposes I think, which is still a valid reason to obtain scrip gear. For HW, even though augmented scrip gear was inferior to penta melded crafted gear, you still qualified for three star recipes without any help from specialists/food/FC buffs. Basically, you can still get the job done, but it was more difficult due to lower stats, which really just teaches you how to improvise better as an omnicrafter. That's what I did as having unique looks for each crafter is VERY important to me.I really do not see much use for the scrip gear, to be honest. Hopefully with the next patch, crafters can aim to craft and meld the best gear and also glam the scrip gear of their choice for multiple classes on that single set, and then pitch the scrip gear to save space.

The current scrip gear is only useful for farming more red and yellow scrips. I have the complete weaver set and because I gave up so many materia slots with it I'm forced to give up CP cap and forbidden meld just to meet minimum requirements on 2 star. It's pretty pointless gear.I really do not see much use for the scrip gear, to be honest. Its not hard to craft the gear, and then meld it to be better than scrip gear. I do hope they get upgraded and somewhat usable. It's frustrating when I spent all hw preparing materias and half is depleted for just 1.5 set. I think they got this the other way around. Both should have same stats (fully melded and scrips), let the crafted one be the more appealing aesthetics for hardcore crafters. As casual crafters I only do yellow scrips here and there for yellow scrips mats, plus saving all the red scrips for materias.
