Thinking of moving from Tonberry,

Hi!

I had to move from Coeurl a few years back when I was station in Korea and settled on Tonberry. I love it there. However since I am back in Texas me and my FC mates times don't always line up. I was thinking about coming here because of the whole RP thing seems fun and I heard its semi active. Right now I am in between here and Coeurl.
Just a few questions....

how is the fate game ? I love fating in between que..
Is DF pretty good times for Tank or DPS ?
Overall the community is important... how is it here?

Houses all Sold out ?

Its going to be a big decision if I move and I want to make sure I am not server hoping if I decide too. once I leave Ton Ton there is no going back... ( for now ) so I want to make the right choice.

fates: honestly it depends. fates in general i don't see many people doing them. but some specific fates like ixion will draw crowds.
df times: instant for tanks, dps is a bit of a wait, but should be comparable to any other server.
community: if this is your first time approaching a rp server, i'm not sure you'll have a useful point of reference. rp servers have much more of a sense of community than non-rp servers.

houses are all sold out. if you want to get one, you're gonna have to join an FC or pay someone to relinquish their plot, which is against the TOS but in practice people do it all the time. really expensive, but how really expensive depends wildly on who you're buying from and why theyre selling.

I'll throw in some too. The community here - compared to a few of the other servers I have played on is really welcoming and fantastic. There are plenty of events, invites to hunts, etc. Like the other poster said, Fates can be hit or miss. I think that's more of the FC that you choose. The server has grown and there is currently no housing, but it still has a homey feel to it. I'd suggest making a starter toon here so you can get the feel for it before you make the jump, since it is a big decision. If you do make the jump and need any help, just /tell me and i'll be happy to assist!

Three of us moved over here back in March from Excalibur, then 3 more moved over after 4.0. It is a great server. People are generally decent, welcoming, and overall friendly. MB is high priced but that's good and bad. Houses are all gone. Que times for tanks and healers are quick, dps is average 30-50 minutes depending on what you are doing. RP is great here from my understanding. There are plenty of people to get into contact with for such things.

Fates are dead as a doornail in general unless there's a majorly desirable one going on or an event going on, and 'Mateus doesn't do content' is something of a memetic joke that is partially rooted in truth.. but you're going to have a hard time finding a server with a more genuine and genuinely delightful community. Bad apples exist, but they're few and far between.

There are a groups that are clearing content, not as large as some servers, but they are there. As far as community, 100% true. This place has been amazing since we moved from Excal.

Thanks for all your input. When I posted to my old server on Courel i never even got a response. So that right there tells me that this server's community is kicking. Only thing holding me back right now is clearing Shinryu Ex. Got him down to 1% rage , and that is in the DF. I don't get much of a chance in PF because most those fellas are sleeping when I'm playing. Fates are another , I usually clear fates or tribes during wait for ques, and so do a few others. That will be something I will miss. I plan on making the move back to NA within the next 2 weeks. Can anyone give me some guidelines to the RP ? Never done it before but honestly it sounds fun... imo most people in MMO role play and don't even realize it. Most people online are nothing like they are in RL to begin with :P

With the changes made to PF, it is not unheard of to complete those things. The biggest hurdle is clearing it once, but then again we have a great community and for the most part are friendly and helpful. I can not tell you how many people I've met since we moved here from Excal. It has been a great experience and there are LS's and FC's whose sole purpose is helping people get in touch with people who are doing those end game clearings.
