Honestly, though, the only way SQEX can revive old content is to find a way to get the material-reward-obsessed masses to run them. And to do that, there have to be material rewards. I would personally recommend locking mounts behind at least synced mode with a mediocre drop rate and giving MinIL a much better rate. People will cry "but I'm a completionist and 'need' to get the items" but completionism is a challenge you signed on for. These items shouldn't be handed out like candy. They lose all meaning at that point anyways.

Otherwise your only hope for doing old content is to find a dedicated group.

I would roll these into something else…like expert roulettes. I mean, you do have to know your stuff for these 8-man runs.

Simple. Convert Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium into solo duties (remember those squadrons? Perhaps for Castrum and Prae your GC assigns a squadron on your behalf for the duty?), have this roulette replace Main Scenario Roulette.

While it would solve the problem of people finishing the instance by the time you've finished the one cutscene, I'm kind of meh on them taking away the one instance where we canonically have allies with us.

People if not Unsych, the don't care about old primals anymore. They want the Lazy mode. I really lie do Ex primals or Coil in their original level. But no one cares anymore.

Also, do the Mentor roulette, 99% of the time you get a Ex primal.

I regularly do 50 ex primals synced in DF, it's how I farmed all my ponies and birds pre-4.0. I think with this as a weekly roulette or something, and if it had enough of an enticing reward, the quality of players you would get with it especially over time as you regularly run it would increase and you'd have most fights pretty well down pat, while being able to coach the first time players through it. I would love that, that's why I play this game.

Now in 4.0 I'm in the mood to run some Sophia again or maybe Sephirot, but no one's gonna do it synced and getting a group together just for that isn't feasible. We need a roulette to keep older content relevant. I'm already bored of Susano/Lakshmi/Shinryu ex, there's no reason to let all this good older content go to waste.
