If you happen to have that interview I'd love to read it. Monk getting new animations on the level of 4.0 MCH would make me so happy. Monk just LOOKS so boring.

I have to agree with Mauvais here. The 4.0 Machinist animations, for instance, are to me an outright eyesore. In short, they just make zero sense. If a MCH can summon turrets on demand to cheer-lead or cover-fire for his shots... why isn't he using them consistently? What could it possibly have to do with weapon heat, of all things?

To me, the core issues with the MNK animations are the same as virtually all melee -- the gliding. Second to that is that the initial animations aren't actually practical enough, imo. No Pugilist would ever choose to leave himself so open. If anything, the bigger animations we have now feel like a pretty decent implementation of version 2 animations, where the Monk becomes distinct from the Pugilist, and whereby enhanced strength and speed make new styles effective where they would have otherwise looked ridiculous.

If you want to see them looking flashy and energized, that would probably require more from our Fists abilities than any of the individual animations, allowing conditional overlying animations atop the base forms.
