RE: Server Merge: Picking New Server

I'm just curious if we will be able to pick and choose which server we are on. I know a while ago this was a hot topic that SE reps didn't like to give a definite answer on.

I have a few friends on Melmond that I'd like to play with. We've all invested too much time into our characters to reroll. Is there a chance we can choose which server to go to after/ during the server merge? With less and less people to play with by the day, this has been crossing my mind more and more. And now that we are all paying customers, choises like these should be available to us.

What's the official word on this, reps?

Hi, this is Producer/Director Yoshida here.

I understand your concern on the number of concurrent users.

Actually the world merge is currently in plan.

We will first analyze the number of players in the game after the billing service begins.
Based on that analysis, we will be running a simulation where the maximum concurrent access during the peak hours will become somewhere around 1500 to 2000 per World.
* The above number is provisional and not a finalized number.

And with the method on how the world merge will be done, it will not be done in a simple method where World A and World B will merge into a single new World.
In order for EU players to gather on the same server in a certain mass, we are planning to go with the method where the players from a World with a less population can designate the World they wish to transfer to.

With the details such as when and how it will be done, they will be announced once they are confirmed.
(I'm assuming that the next update should become available in mid-January.)

believe me i know the feeling. i've spent the last few weeks pretty much solo due to dead servers. i can still get in an ifrit party every now and then, but for the most part this mmo is completely solo.

Ok forgive me as I'm pretty tired and I did try to find it before I replied and logged off BUT, I saw somewhere any type of "merge" or "transfer" wasn't going to happen until April. Again, I don't know if this is true and if I can find it, I will edit this post.

im 100% sure that until server mergers become official(and not just something they are looking into) we will not hear a thing about the details of it

after all, why inform people how you "might do something if you do it"
thatl just confuse the hell out of people


though personaly i hope its full merges, no choice on where you go. itl help keep shells and friends together and not bring around the drama we know will happen when player A goes to server A and player B goes to server B before consulting each other then whining in 500 threads about how they got put on the wrong server apart from each other
