I just know what it's like to be stuck in a fight because a certain player keeps holding a group back due to damage. I know, because I was once that player. And I was glad when someone pointed out I could be doing a lot better than I was doing.
It's no different than being that guy who keeps messing up in the same mechanic, over and over again, when the rest of the group is obviously ready to clear.
no such thing as 1 person holding the group back dude, idk where ppl get that mindset from. everyone is at fault in group content, its a snow ball/domino effect.
That data is meaningless if you're just playing epeen. Get your head out of the gutter: looking back on data in past fights has helped my group optimize and barrel past mechanics before. Being able to pinpoint exact times and places where healing can be laxed, dps can be pushed, and when to play it safe is invaluable.
Of the two of us, the one on the anti parser side seems more obsessed with using it strictly as an epeen stroker. Just an observation.
im not stroking my epeen. XD jeezum crow, you need to look up the meaning of context, if you think im being rude or something. That data is meaningless if you're just playing epeen. If you and your buddies use it great, you have visual context to back up numbers. you are using it correctly as a helpful of self improvement.
What I'm talking about is just straight up look up someones parse, and judging them. No visual context to back up the numbers.
Im not even anti parse, I just dislike how rude people can be over fflogs parses. If statics use it as a tool, great you use it for the right purpose, not everyone does.
More often then not people use it to BLINDLY judge others over numbers with no visual context. stats/number are meaningless with out that visual context.
I see it often in the forums when people link other peoples log and use it to insult them.
ps i have 0 idea what the dark blue number means anyway. I don't parse (ps4) no one in my fc uses a parse. Only found 2 fights that i have been parsed on 1 was a sch 1 was my smn.
my sch is not well geared as i don't play it often, i just did the fight to help someone. My void arc one could be one of many runs i've done, so no clue.
What im trying to say is, that VISUAL context matters, not just numbers on a spread sheet. I ways also just letting you know i have nothing to hide as well, feel free to look me up on fflogs.
also "get you head out of the gutter" is a phrase that you are not using it correctly.just saying.
idc if ppl parse, idc if statics use it , idm being parsed. Just don't use it to attack others. Don;t use it to pick a fight and force people to play like you, you can't.
Its rude and wrong, no one is forcing you to play with people not of your mindset, you just gotta deal with the consequences. If you have an issue with how others play, set up a pf. Make a content linkshell.
Which goes for everyone, no one should be forcing mindsets and play style on others, and using a "good" (not my opinion) tool to bettle others ruins that tools usefulness.
I've played an mmo with a built in parser, and it did nothing but made ppl act less like a team. And i rather not see that here, i rarely see ppl work as a team, just infighting, blame game and vindictive attitudes.
what i found to be more funny, is my g/f character doesn't even exist on fflog XD she runs content more then me, and is more of a hardcore player then I am. Guess no one in her 4-5 years of playing parsed her.

Well that's just part and parcel with anything isn't it? There's always the idiot who tries to hammer a screw. It just doesn't help when people come around saying that the only use for a hammer is a screw because that's what they see people using it for, and then declaring hammers as useless and even the people using them for nails should have them taken away.
Can you please quote one or two times when an fflogs was specifically posted on the forums to mock someone? I use the forums a lot and haven't seen it, but I'm not omniscient.
Parser on a dummy would been okay if the dummy had mechanics, but they don't so it would be useless.
I agree, I'm waiting for players to quote where we mention that plus being toxic againt's others with dps numbers. Then when they done, I'll quote how many people been toxic without parser on this forum.
This is false. It is entirely possible for a player to hold an entire group back from progressing. A good example would be my previous static. One of our healers (absolute sweetheart; tried her damnedest) just could not keep up with the demands of V3S. As a result, we spent 5 weeks on it. After we replaced her, we cleared the next week. Of course, there were other issues (rDPS issues, mainly), but when you can't make it past forest phase or library because one of your healers just can't keep up with the demands, that is an instance of a single player holding a group back from progressing.
To say there is "no such thing" is blatantly untrue.

FFlogs has a built in replay feature that allows you to essentially watch a reenactment of the fight, thus enabling to not only see when and what caused deaths but precisely how it led up to that moment. Furthermore, if a person is purposely being vindictive and letting people die, it'll show on their poor heal management. Put simply, FFlogs is exceptionally thorough when used properly.
you mean its basicly a cheat tool that does the work for you ^^FFlogs has a built in replay feature that allows you to essentially watch a reenactment of the fight, thus enabling to not only see when and what caused deaths but precisely how it led up to that moment.
