Of course not. You can just use a calculator and a spreadsheet. However, I'd prefer to spend those few hours once in a while actually playing the game than doing the math.

Anyone that is a "top" at their class either used parser, did the calculations the old-fashioned way (the two probably combine to 99% of the best 1 000 players), or have an immensely good luck/instinct that borders on an innate genius. Sure, there are people like that...but most are average. Cause...ya know...that's what "average" means.

Of course. But those who wanna learn will have a lot easier time at learning with a parser.

Parsers may have been suggested 40 times. This suggestion is about a method they could be implemented, not parsers per see.

Also, read. It doesn't hurt, it's not difficult either. You cannot be kicked for not turning your numbers with my suggestion, because you can't turn them on. And neither can the person that asks you to turn them on or anyone else in the party. Once it would be set, it's in stone for the entire run. And if someone feels like entering a dungeon while being one of the people locking parsers out only to complain about there being no parsers and voting abandon for no parsers being accessible...well, that person would have way bigger problems than not seeing numbers...

So does actually reading fully first, instead of just skimming the title and progressing to make your post without caring about anything else written.

As for the people that extremely fear the numbers grieving...I had a peculiar run yesterday as a tank. Using just the combat log that is already in game, I found out that the damage dealers deal with their skills about 30% less damage than I do with the basic Fast Blade, as a paladin with a shield stance on. It took me a while to understand which damage is which (except my own) due to how messed up the combat log is in this game...but that alone would make it suitable for me to vote kick the two DPS if I was into that stuff (I'm not, there's no point, so long as we progress).
This however does not take into consideration a myriad of things (attack speed is one of them). In fact, this is the purest form of "basic numbers". And it is far more unfair.

I am in the middle on parsers. I kinda wish I could meet someone who uses one by chance and run something with them to see if I'm decent...Sometimes I feel like I'm mopping the floor, then I run with others and see someone pull over 30K damage and it makes me feel...lower? I often wonder where I stand and wonder if I could do harder content. Then at the same time, like we all do, I have bad runs or bad days, not everyday of course, but I do slip up from time to time, but what if everyday is one of those "bad days" what if I just suck lol. So, idk...

Just admitting to using a parser can get someone banned. And there was at least one person in this very thread that said that he reports anyone that admits to use parsers on principle, I believe. As a result, I'm sure you've met a bunch of parser-users, but none will even let you know they do that cause...well, no one wants to be banned for doing no harm.

Right, I am aware of that, but I would like to know JUST for my personal gain, to know where I stand and where and what I can do to improve, I could care less for anyone else I don't care. Unless they are wanting the help then I'd offer the hand, but that's a whole other thing.

Go to FFlogs and find your character there after running some extremes or Savage. It's very likely you'll get uploaded after some runs, especially if you say you'd like someone to upload the logs if possible to see your ranks.

I would, but I'm intimidated to do high end duties. I know I could eventually learn them mechanics that's not an issue, the issue is not KNOWING where I stand, and well...the toxicity of the high end players. Not to say they are all the same, but a good handful are, and, I can understand why. They are there to get stuff done, already went through the learning curves, and wants others to be on the same page as them...You could always say "go do a learning party", but even then...idk guess the intimidation is too big. I probably don't make sense...

A DPS section in the ranked PotD (SB version if it ever gets released) would also be acceptable. Personally I think if you can solo all the way to floor 200 you probably know how to play that class.
Congratulations, you don't understand anything what concerns people who want a parser. It has nothing to do with beeing a elitist to have the desire to get better and test new/different rotations.

The majority of people I've run into in most content(I don't do savage, but I do my best to learn/do the EX trials) aren't as toxic as a lot of people would have you believe. The learning parties can dissolve into a toxic swamp, but that's usually after 3+ failures at the EXACT same point every time. For the longest time(until like 5min ago actually) I never looked at FFLogs, and I was actually somewhat surprised at where I am on some of the stuff that was uploaded with me included in it...apparently(if I'm reading it right), I'm in the 90s for Argath in Rabanaster.

Edit: Now that I've actually looked at the logs, I can tell I do have room for improvement, which is definitely something for me to work towards. So I see my lower numbers as being an incentive to work on my timings/rotations/throwing in more skills I rarely use.

It's understandable! Especially knowing that not everyone's is too friendly in that content and there are party finders with descriptions like "1 mistake and kick!". But I do encourage you to start a PF to try the content in a casual and relaxed manner with likeminded players! Just write in the description something like "trying this for fun for 1 full timer, join without any performance pressure!" or "casual no-pressure practice from beginning, don't need to know the fight!". When you're starting a group, the group is what you make it to be. And I'm sure there are others who feel the same way and would like to try the content but are too scared to.

    Sorry about the off topic.

Which is something neither SE nor all the people against parsers in this and in the myriad of threads over the subject condone.

Again, the way it is right now is more than enough. You're free to use it for your personal use, but NOT to JUDGE OTHER PEOPLE'S PERFORMANCE PUBLICLY.
