Join Party in progress broken?

Had a FC member report that his tank disconnected during Bardham's Mettle and he needed a rescue.

I swapped to tank, selected the dungeon, queued up, and ----- nothing happened for 2 minutes, then it tried to put me in a new instance.

I can understand if a party has been waiting for a new tank for some time, but it treated me as if I was the one trying to form a party. It was 1/1 0/1 0/2 for the full two minutes. I confirmed that my "Join Party in Progress" flag was on (I never take it off, but I double checked.)

So I withdrew, waited a few minutes, confirmed that the FC member's instance said "Looking for party members..." and tried again. Same thing, waited 2 minutes, new instance tries to start instead. So they're still tankless in BM, and I really disappointed two other parties.

Is Join Party in Progress broken? I just wanted to help a friend

If he went in as a full group you can't queue in.

This can happen if there are other people that got the in progress queue pop but didn't accept and left the dialog open. There might of been a bunch of people that didn't hit commence and held up the in progress queue. (up to 45 sec per person).

Nope he went in from duty finder.

I suppose that might have been the case... but for over 5 minutes? :/

You need to make sure they attempted to replenish your ranks from the inside. If they didn't then no one would be able to join.

Yes, I confirmed that before I queued up the second time.

They had to disband. They waited about 20 minutes and never got a replacement.

I had a bit of trouble queueing for O4N just 20 mins ago or so. Despite me having completed it with both people I was partied with before and everyone double checking they hadn't unequipped a piece of gear and dropped themselves below the ilvl requirement it just wouldn't pop for us.

We went as a tank, a healer and a DPS - that queue should have been instant but we waited around 7 minutes.

I know it doesn't relate directly to your issue but I just think DF in general was having some issues tonight.

Don't forget that you might not have the same language settings as they might have. If you only pick 'E' for the queue as the language, you'd get different ones than if you picked 'EDFJ'

You know what, this might have actually been the issue. I play E only, but if he had all four languages picked and someone in his party was F, G, or J only, that'd do it. (Most likely F since we're an NA data center.)

I can confirm this, this is why people shouldn't pick random languages in duty finder, it creates more problems than it solves. If the instance is hosted as J, D or F and you need to replenish party members DF will not draw people from the E queue, it will wait until someone with the appropriate language queues.
