I dont have a NIN amymore in my group but he really shouldnt be that of a problem after shadewalker and diversion. Otherwise voke+shrik. Also I didnt say not to use BB at all, just not in the opener

How so? Every 2 minutes at least you should be using 1 BB combo otherwise you'll be generating more gauge than you can spend. That is considerating 100% uptime.
Don't listen to people who say you don't need Butcher's Block. They probably only play with their static and don't know the actual reality, which is that in some parties, you won't just be able to hold pull agro without Butcher's Block. In some parties, the other tank isn't going to Shirk you. And in SOME parties, the freakin' Ninja won't Shade you or even use Smoke Screen at all!
So in order to minimize wipes and annoyances, depending on the fight, I don't open up with Storm's Eye -> Storm's Path. I do Storm's Eye into Butcher's Block, because at the end of the day, all it's gonna cost me is one extra Onslaught.
I'm V1S and V2S, you don't really need to worry about it. But in V3S you have a high chance of losing agro, ESPECIALLY if you get targeted by the swapping mechanics. And in V4S you might not lose agro at the start, but you will later on, so you might as well just Butcher's Block at the start and it'll hold until the swap.
Also, when it comes to Defiance vs. Deliverance, the agro difference is marginal. So just open up with Tomahawk, use Equilibrium, and immediately go into Deliverance. If you time it right, you won't clip your GCD.
Sam and mnk are the only jobs that don't have enmity halving skills, they're the main offenders. Nin should bring diversion on top of using shadewalker if you really want to optimize aggro management (not bringing sam/mnk also helps with this lol). But ofc you can't assume optimal conditions in pugs so if you can't hold aggro without butcher's block combo just use it (or leave and find another group).Little curious on how. Since I got my 340 tome weapon, I've been experimenting with different openers, and even if I do the BB after Path (Both in Deliverance and Defiance), the other DPS (SAM and NIN being the biggest offenders of my group) still creep up in hate sorta quickly
On Exfaust I see the NIN probably up to 95% hate right before the first Decisive Battle, forcing me to do more BB combos so they don't take hate
To be fair, if you're doing savage content and you have tanks who won't shirk/ninjas who won't use shadewalker/dps who won't use aggro tools, they have no business being there. This is savage, not expert roulettes...time to step it up people.Don't listen to people who say you don't need Butcher's Block. Not optimal, but I just use SE>BB before swapping to deliverance. It's likely the only BB I'm going to do, unless I absolutely have to do another one, so I just do it to get it out of the way and then focus on gauge. Not my concern to top the charts as long as I'm doing decent, would rather make sure the group is set by me having enough aggro.
When it first came out, yeah... you'd expect there to be only serious people doing their best. Nowadays though you get all sorts of players who seem to half-ass their roles. lol
