nope calling it incomplete because for the most part, a lot of the game is still broken/not finished, or just plain does not work right.

This is basically one of the things I was going for. People say the game is incomplete just because it doesn't have things they want. That's not really how games work. Is the new Zelda game incomplete because it doesn't have voice acting? No. It's just something that's not in the game.

As of billing commencement, the developers consider the game to be at 100% retail. That's a fact, otherwise they wouldn't have commenced billing. The stuff being added after this would be akin to normal MMO patch additions, with 2.0 being similar to an expansion or how WoW upgraded its graphic system a few years ago.

The devs call 8 man dungeons "raids". Doesn't mean anyone else thinks it is. Beta is as beta does.

AH and search function, along with class reforms set the bar to where Yoshida thought the game would be a worthy title. That was achieved.

You're right. He said that after 1.19 was released, he considered it 50% done. It's more due to bad memory, than reading comprehension though, but thanks for correcting me. =)

However, I wouldn't say that 1.20 upped the game by 50%. That's just silly.

It's hardly 100% complete. Even Yoshida said he considered it to be 50% complete at this point.

people dont even have a concept of what a real beta is anymore because the market has been really dumb with them lately and making them glorified demos to attract sales before a game launches(which means they werent even betas at all)

No, none of those were betas. None of those games were rebuilding new servers, a new game engine, and fiddling with mechanics that are usually decided in pre-production either.

it sure as hell felt like they were redoing the game every time, since you go practicaly god mode when they implement the changes that are meant for the expansion months ahead of time there....


so yes, it is the exact same thing, people just dont want to see it for what it really is

No, but none of those games had to publicly admit they released a sub par product and state a year later that they were completely remaking the game from the ground up.

MMOs always are at a level of development, but none of those games you mention were completely stripping away the core mechanics of the game and replacing them.
