I wish the tail was on the bottoms precisely because I think that we will probably never get the Lupin or a more inhuman race as playable. People have been asking for Viera as a playable race since 1.0 and they have repeatedly said that their inhuman feet make them difficult to implement. We might get Viera some day but I can't see them adding a completely inhuman race.

They could always just make something very similar to Viera, but not. Thereby dropping the inhuman feet; it could be like an Eorzean variety of Viera! They already have one that's similar but quite toned down and more cutesy.
But as for beasty races.... Yeah. Guess not. D:

As far as the pieces not fitting together properly i thought the whole idea was it's a poorly made costume.
