I'd say people don't really have a interest in the content. I don't really care about the gates on the this, I doubt I'll ever run it as it has no rewards I'm interested in. I just think that calls for more content of this difficulty need to be tempered by the fact that very little of the paying player base will engage with this content. It will be interesting to see how much of the player base does it and how long this content stays active for.

By that same token, should Machinist be deleted since it's by and large unpopular? I, personally, find Perform a complete waste of time. Should I make several threads complaining about it? The entire purpose behind a themepark MMO is something for everyone. What you or others dislike others may find enjoyment and vice versa.

You can do if you like, personally I think perform looks like a complete waste of time as well, don't touch MCH though that's my go to DPS at the moment
