Yeah nothing going to change. We saw same thing last year when they added additional... uh 3 wards per zone?
Doubt they add a new area this soon too

They really can't use cold environments are terrible places for gardens as an excuse. Central Highlands and a certain quest line say it could be otherwise.

I hope this becomes a reality. I think nearly all of us will forgive inaccurate snow physics (as in it doesn't linger on our yard furnishings) and gardening in the cold clime. Just give us our snowy chalets and some hotspring pools for swimming. Call it the Coerthas Resettlement Initiative and claim the Holy See is using it to lure adventurers to prop up Ishgards forces in the war (to prolong having to ask the Eorzean Alliance for help).
we don't know...what exactly they're doing, but...hopefully it will do something. when the houses in game (roughly what...5% of the player base character number, not counting FCs) is so low, it causes issues. They lowered the prices to make them more accessible to players, which means they need to make the number go up. somehow. that's the biggest thing. another 1K houses is a drop in the bucket and there are plenty of places that housing could be added. it might just be a not having time to design it...who knows?

Thanks everyone for the kind words on the map!
It's surely going to take a while before we get an Ishgard housing area - the planning itself isn't all that much work*, but implementing it, putting in every wall and every tree and every star lamp and waffle booth... I digress. Anyway, it takes a lot of time to do the programming, so I don't exactly expect them to add it this christmas, but maybe, maybe next year's christmas? It would fit so perfectly with the Starlight Celebration.
The gardens should also definitely be snowy. We have igloos and snow patches and other snow stuff for our tropical, rainforest and desert gardens already (ever noticed how the goblet gardens are brownish at the edges?), so what would keep us from growing tropical fruits, rainforest trees and desert... stones in our gardens. Put snow on the roofs (saves the time for a tile texture) and maybe the chocobo stables and we're happy, no need to create snow physics for every chair and table. Not everything in Ishgard is completely snow-covered, either. Speaking of which, there are a lot of archtecture styles and textures that could easily be re-used for the various types of housing.
Yes, there is a complete model of the housing area in my mind. I've dreamt about Ishgard housing for a long time and I really want it to be a cold, snowy mountain village. Though I wouldn't mind a floating island in the Sea of Clouds with a snowy option, either.

*necroposts*
because I fully support a new housing area in Ishgard, and someone suggested the house theme be steampunk, I really hope the new designs are close to Leofard's quarters. like moving parts and all.
I really love visiting his place.

Good job on the map. I'd like a place there.

Love your idea, and all the background and thoughts you put into itLots of people were hoping for a snowy housing place, this would be great to be seen in game !
