So, what is going on with the seasonal things? They just seem to, short? Not boring, just short.
what gives? The time allotment to do the quests are LONG, but the quests themselves are short.
Ya I am from warcraft where the seasonal events were long and complex, with a good pay off. And no don't do the "then you should go back to warcraft!" thing. In my personal opinion I think FF14 blows warcraft out of the water in a lot of things, just cause I complain about something, does not make me think its all bad.
I like the idea of grinding for tokens, but I want to have them be massive dailies where you do random quests, or you explore the world and do smaller events in them to get tokens to get the items from the vendors.
Take a few items you would normally pay cash for that are of that event, to let people get them with out spending money then when the event is done put them back. so people have a reason to log in and do the event rather then just a single quest.

It's as long as you make it to be. You can go once for the outfit or repeat it for more items. The objectives for the dungeon changes everytime you go in. I don't see the issue myself.

Ya the Halloween event has that. But most lately has been "talk to this guy, then to this guy and then do this and done" and even the dungeon thing was pretty weak. You run it three times and not fail and you get every thing. And they give you an outfit.
Again the items you get are ok and the outfit is nice, but...I recall in wow you LITERALLY EGGED the other faction's base, dealt with a headless horseman who turned into a BOSS. And you can go around to inns and take candy that did stuff to the player, it was really nice. I had a reason to explore back then it was interesting. Even the thanksgiving thing was interesting since it helped boost your cooking skills by giving you easy things to cook a lot of.
It was more then just, talk to this person then that person and then these people and then back to that person and go to the first person done...and maybe a quick thing in the middle.

I'd prefer they work on new content every 3 months than become too obsessed with seasonal events imo.

Yes, all the seasonal events are short. You can easily finish each of them in a day or two.
For those of us who have alts and/or don't play FFXIV every day this is actually very nice - it means I do not have to spend all my time grinding the event to get all the stuff.

In some other games I play (Lord of the Rings Online, Secret World Legends) you have to repeat quests many times to be able to get all the seasonal items. It easily becomes a grind, and it can be nice to get a break from the grinding.

hmmm Well being there is quite of bit of content and a lot of new players having a short event is not that bad. If you haven't done Yokai one for all weapons and minions to get both mounts there is a nice long boring grind for you -.-/
