Exp Woes..

Ive only played 3 mmorpg's.. But I was wondering, has any other mmorpg made it so that you could distribute exp? Ive been leveling a SMN on an alt and its been extremely difficult to get into DF Roulette waiting 30+ mins... For instance, yesterday I completed all my dailies (hunts, beastment quest, etc) that dont require DF and my DF still hadnt popped by the time I was done.. But on that alt I have warrior max leveled.. Can SE make it so that I can que as a tank and distribute any gained exp to a cast job? z

P.S I want to applaud S.E for the changes to SMN.. Ive never mained SMN or played it much but I got it to 60 pre 4.0 and I have to say, it is MUCH easier to play.. Particularly the 4.1 changes.. Granted im only 65..

With SMN specifically, can't you just play SCH to cut your queue times down if you want to level through DF? It's exactly what you want as it shares the same experience pool.

I really hate healing.. I tried that lol. But I plan on doing BLM next but since I'm having such problems getting into DF with smn it's really making me want to put off BLM.. I WILL say however, the raid DF roulette is less than 5mins on smn

At level 65...? That would honestly surprise me.

If you are planning on leveling as fast as possible, then you need to enter the dungeons, but as you have experienced already, DPS need to wait 30-40 minutes before they can enter. My advice, gear up your Scholar and level up as a Scholar via the dungeons. You might not like healing, but its alot faster then waiting in a queue as a Summoner.

Ah probably not 60-70, no. But something's better than nothing.

I personally prefer the dungeon/roulettes route, though time can definitely be an issue.

Or I guess this is pretty obvious but just ask people in your FC if they have any alts they would like to level with you. If any of them are working on a tank or healer, things would go a lot faster! You could even try putting up a leveling party on party finder and spam a certain dungeon. Maybe people would bite, but I'm not sure.... Alternatively, although I know everyone is probably sick of hearing it, make a tank/healer friend and ask for help!

You are in a unique position in that smn and sch share exp ( I honestly wished all jobs did this). I would make sch up to date with gear and skills and do the final push as a healer. Some other tips to make the process quicker;

There's a FC action that gives you extra EXP from monsters. It's like 10-20% but I can't remember exactly
Food gives you a tiny boost
Daily raid roulette gives like 1/3rd of a level and Healer seems to be AiN more often than tank so it's a short wait.

Yep, Heat of Battle which gives extra exp as you stated. Depends which one the FC has active, but:

Heat of Battle 1: 5% (purchase with company points or crafted then charged in an aetherial wheel)
Heat of Battle 2: 10% (purchase with company points or crafted in a workshop then charged in an aetherial wheel)
Heat of Battle 3: 15% (only crafted in a workshop and then charged in an aetherial wheel)
