The way the Falcon mount campaign was handled was terrible

I've been playing on PC since 2.1 and haven't dropped sub once ever since. I switched to PS4 recently.

I wasn't too sure how the qualification terms exactly worked, so decided to talk to SE support TWICE to make sure I did everything by the book.

They told me that while I did not qualify for the first wave, they checked my account and said I qualified since 9/21 and would get it in the second wave.

Oct 5th came and nothing came. I was disheartened to learn by an agent that, after all, no, I did not qualify, and that the previous agents had just made a mistake.

I think it's inexcusable - being subbed for so long, only to be lied to by staff, and then being unable to do anything about it. I've rarely seen companies with such contempt for their customers.

With the loss of veteran rewards, the housing meltdown, and this mess of a promotion, I will probably be letting my sub expire for the first time since 2.1. Good job on alienating your customers SE.

I agree it was kinda a weird campaign to be honest, I honestly hope the way they do "veteran rewards" in the future or their login reward whatever, is gonna be better than this.

I'm ok with them keeping this format, but at least have support know what the hell they're doing, and have a visible clear way to know if/when you qualify for it. They do have a way to know that because the agent told me I qualified since 9/21 (which was wrong but whatever) so they could show it in the console.

I'm a little confused as to how you weren't qualified (and thus why you would be questioning whether or not you met such requirements). Switching to PS4 isn't a problem, since it doesn't require a new account or anything. If you've been subbed since 2.1, you'd obviously have went well beyond the 90 day requirement. Did you not register SB until after September?

Apparently purchasing a PS4 license adds 30 days of free time to your account (which I did not even know). So although I never unsubscribed, with the free time from PS4 license I did not qualify... That's messed up.

A bunch of people, myself included, lost the mount due to the 15 free days from leveling a character, so yeah, the Falcon campaign was a bit of a trainwreck. It's unlikely to see anything come of it however, since people are in full mob mentality over the housing nonsense so any other issue gets shoved under the rug and trampled into a fine paste.

Honestly, if the information they have is the same as ours and I was a CS rep for this case, I'd probably have told you the same (that you are qualified). There is literally no mention of free time hindering an already qualified account. Basically, any information regarding free time on their details of the campaign point that it is just ignored and does not count for anything. This is unfortunately requiring the attention of CMs or reps that actually are responsible for letting the JP branch know there's either a bug or misleading information on the site. It literally states that free play periods do not affect the campaign (i.e. it's an ignored variable) and mentions nothing that it will hinder qualified accounts.

Are you sure about this? According to https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/mount...717.1497381225 it says "excluding free play periods"

Doesn't make it any better though, I never asked for any free time, just wanted to play on PS4 and get the mount...
