    So ...so much stuff

My inventory is full to the top and I have two porter guys I have hired just to act as more inventory space. They are mostly full to.The game has just endless amounts of stuff. I have been saving a lot of it to eventually level up crafting professions. They are only in the teens level wise. Some I don't even know what its for. Just endless amounts of stuff. My Armory Chest was mostly full at one point and I have sold a bunch of the items for almost nothing that had no spirit bonding. Still this is the one thing in the game I find not fun . Taking care of your inventory. I am only level 54...There has got to be a better way.

Leveling crafters with only 2 retainers is doable - you just have to actively manage items.

    1) Can a material be purchased from an NPC for cheap? Most low level mats are sold at the guilds, in town, in housing areas, or by beast tribes (you just need to start the tribe questline to unlock vendors). Check an online database such as gamerescape, garlondtools, xivdb, etc.
    2) Is the material sold for very cheap on the MB?
    3) Will you actually need it for any upcoming crafts? Databases again help.

Only keep mats on hand that you will actively need in the short term, or are a pain in the butt to get. I semi regularly go on purges to tidy things up.

Then why are you holding onto it? You sound like a hoarder.

I have all of my crafters to 60 (except ALC and I'm too lazy at the moment to take it from 50) and I only have one retainer dedicated to crafting materials. I keep my inventory clear of junk by following a few steps:

    1) I ask myself how easy it is to obtain the item. If I can simply buy it off of a vendor for cheap or spend a few minutes gathering more of it (or sending my retainers on a Venture for it) or if I can otherwise easily synth another, I'll get rid of it if I'm not about to make immediate use of it.

    2) I ask myself if I need HQ versions of the material. If I'm lugging around materials for items that you can't HQ anyway (such as glamour prisms) or that I can easily HQ with NQ materials, I'll convert the HQ materials down to NQ and stack them.

    3) I ask myself if they're part of an item that I want to make. For example, if I know I want to produce cloth prisms some time soon, I'll turn all of my cotton bolls and diremite web into thread and then turn the thread into stacks of cloth instead of having a random smattering of web, bolls, thread, and cloth.

    4) I leveled all of my classes 5-10 levels at a time so they could share gear. I only really started doing this after already having three classes to 60 and a bunch of saved up equipment, but doing the last five classes on a rotation like that meant I could start tossing out old sets of equipment every time the last class in line outleveled them.

Also, Crafting As A Service is an amazing site for anyone trying to level DoH/DoL via leves. XIVDB is an excellent way to quickly look up where to find materials and what crafts they're used in.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

I'd suggest just focusing on one crafter class at the moment to be honest. Try getting Weaver up first for Careful Synth II. Plus don't forget about the armoury bonus, which gives you much more EXP when you have another class of the same type (Dol/Doh/Combat classes) by having one at level 50+

There's also a few sites that tell you all levequests for everything in game, which will also show you what gives the best EXP for your current level in multiples of 5 (So levels 5-10, then 11-15, and so on)

Also, you don't need to hold on to everything. I have all combat at 70, all gathering at 70, and all crafting at 60+. The only time I had trouble with item space was when I grabbed every items from the new level 60+ dungeons and only got rid of stuff when I finished tanks/healers, Dex Classes, Mages, Str classes.

If you're gonna craft, do it one class at a time. If you're not gonna focus long on it, I'd suggest getting rid of most of the random junk you probably got from dungeon mobs/overworld mobs from killing them.

    Edit: https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Category:Levequest

This will show you levequests. They also list everything needed, as well as the EXP. If you turn in HQ items, you get double the reward.

At one point though you'll be able to unlock better ways for getting crafter EXP, but this will work well until about 60. There's also grand company turn-ins, which if they have a Star by them they give double EXP, and if you turn in HQ with a star, you get 4x EXP.

Just to correct you here, the armoury bonus only applies to combat classes, not to crafting or gathering classes. It also applies to any job that's lower than the character's highest level job. For example, a player with a lvl 33 BLM and a lvl 31 WHM will get the armoury bonus when leveling the WHM.

This is your issue. You're a hoarder. This 'problem' will continue to persist even if they gave you 100 or 200 more inventory spaces. You're being a bit ridiculous by holding onto stuff you have no need for, or don't even know if you will need.

-Don't craft at some point. Craft now. And use the leves to level (focus on the mats needed for them).
-Got materia? Thanks to the new system where we can unsocket the materia for 100% if they are grade IV and below, those (DoW) materia are now usually only worth thier NPC price. Dump them/send to alt
-Go through ALL your gear and turn in the things you don't absolutely need or love to the Grand company for seals. Spend those seals on ventures, exp tickets, leveling your squadron, whatever you need.
-Even if you LOVE a gear piece for glamour, go searching to see if there is a dyeable version of it, obtain that instead.
-Check the Calamity Salvager NPC and the one next to it, if they sell unique gear you obtained in quests, including event items. Throw them to the ground! You can buy them back for next to nothing gil. Event/Reward items that they dont sell must be put into the Armoire found in any Inn room or likely your FC house.

ANYTHING you have that you know you dont need but you simply want to keep just in case... Mail them to a friend, who in turn can mail them to your alt. Alternatively you can use a Free Company chest to transfer items between yourself and your Alts. Remember your alts have the extra retainers you pay for too.

If you want to go for Minecraft levels of organisation you could name your alts retainers easy names like 'Materia Potato' or 'Metal Roe-Bro'

I save dungeon drop items for glamours. I'm loathe to let any go, as getting them again would be a massive pain. It's these items that are filling up my retainers. I'm hoping for a glamour log soon as 90% of my space would be freed up
